I am a Virgnia Licensed Home Inspector and a Certified Home Inspector in the Inter National Association of Certified Home Inspectors. I have completed the American Home Inspectors Training Institute/Norfolk State University in class training course. I am a Certified Inspector of ASHI. I have completed the proctored National Home Inspector Exam by the Examination Board of Professional Home Inspectors required for licensing by Virginia. I have over 30 years experience in the residential & commercial construction industries and have held a Virginia Class A Contractor’s License (2701 029590A) since 1986. I hold a Master Certification in Project Management through Villanova University and LEED AP through the Green Building Certification Institute. Additonal certifications: Home Air Check Professional by Prism Analytical Technologies, Indoor Air Quality 2 Certification by International Association of Certified Home Inspectors. Infrared Certification by InterNACHI. LEED AP. Building Performance Institute Certified Building Analyst Professional and Envelope Specialist. Guy was very professional and thorough. We would recommend him highly if you need a Home Inspection. He called to ask if he could get started earlier than our schedule appointment which worked out perfectly for us. He took the time to explain certain conditions that we have to address and gave us several helpful suggestions. I can't say how lucky we feel for choosing him from Angie's list...he got our report to us right away which is helpful since the home he inspected for us will be a rental...Thank you Guy for a job well done! Mr. Brand worked with my family while we were away to perform a thorough inspection of a home we were looking to purchase.  He gave us a report very quickly.  It covered the major items that were wrong with the home such as a new vapor barrier needed to be installed, potential mice problem under the house (feces found in insulation), rot in some of the wood.  Some very minor items were missed, but they did not cost us much to repair (i.e. under the sink had a very bad leak that was not mentioned in the report).  Overall, we were very pleased with his inspection of our now home and would use him again in the future.

I hired Mr. Brand for a pre-purchase inspection on a foreclosed home. I arrived at the home 30 minutes prior to our scheduled inspection time and Mr. Brand was already there and complete with the crawl space inspection. Once we went inside the home he began to conduct a mold inspection with special equipment and while it was running and collecting samples he went around the home and conducted his home inspection. He was thorough, polite, and even gave us an idea of what items need repair or replacing and what a fair approximation for that would be. He debriefed his findings with us immediately upon completion and his hard-copy report was sent to us later that night for review.
I would hire Mr. Brand again and I would recommend him.

He began his inspection 15 minutes before the appointed time.  He was very thorough and extremely professional.  He explained some things that he found with the builder and asked some questions to make sure that they were aware of problems that he found.  He went as far as to use a mirror to inspect every inch of the home.  I am so grateful that I found this company.
As unusal as it maybe, I have no complaints about doing business with this company.  I highly recommend them and if I need this type of service again, I will contact them.

We arrived at our new home 20 minutes early to find Mr. Guy Brand already there.  Mr. Brand had already looked over the roof and outdoor areas.  We were greeted with a smile and lots of hand shakes.  He even chit chatted with our six year old son while we were waiting on our realtor to arrive.  He was very thorough while he looked over the entire house.  We had a very small attic space but that did not stop him from looking everything over.  He was EXTREAMLY knowledgable with what he saw and what needed to be corrected.  Mr. Brand crawled in the crawl space in his "work gear".  He did not mind getting dirty.  Once he was finished, he loaded everything on his computer and pointed everything out with picture and his fancy laser pointer. We would recommend Mr. Guy Brand to our friends and family! GREAT WORK!!!!!
