They're very good, very thorough. The staff is friendly. They're the only ones I go to.

She has found things on mammograms that other people have not found. This is a new subspecialty. She has found for me and my sister that were not found on other mammograms. She is remarkable. She is committed to educating other physicians. She runs clinics and seminars for other radiologists that come in around the country. I think that when I move I will still come back here once a year for my mammogram. She has a wonderful bedside manner and a remarkable staff. I feel the dynamic really comes down from the top. Her staff is absolutely wonderful and everything you’d want them to be.

The whole process was extremely cold, rushed, and mechanical. It was not a very good experience. The nurse who took care of me was probably the only bright spot in the whole experience. Everything turned out fine in the end, there was no problem. However, getting to that point was not a good experience. I was very disappointed because this is something that they specialize in. I think they are getting a little numb around the edges because they do so much of this work everyday. I will probably continue to use them for my yearly exams. I have written a letter to them about my unhappiness with the experience.

Routine mammograms are scheduled in a timely fashion. There's always a brief wait in the front waiting area before they call me back... and often a lengthier wait in another area, once I have taken off jewelry, etc., and am wearing a medical gown. I am always offered the option of waiting for the results of my screening mammogram, to determine if additional mammography is needed - and I always take that option, since it's WAY more inconvenient to come back at a later date than it is to wait a while longer when I'm already there. I have usually met with Dr. Paredes herself to discuss my results, although on my March 2009 visit, I met with a younger woman (med. student? intern?), and was offered the opportunity to wait to speak with Dr. Paredes. Following routine mammography plus an ultrasound last year, Dr. Paredes also performed a breast biopsy to check out a suspicious area (thankfully, no problems!). Dr. Paredes met with me immediately following the initial mammograms and ultrasound to explain why she was recommending the biopsy - and the biopsy was scheduled the following week, which really helped to minimize my anxious waiting time! The biopsy iself was, as one might imagine, a very uncomfortable process... but the staff who assisted and Dr. Paredes herself were VERY encouraging and comforting, and explained everything as it was happening. She also called me as soon as the biopsy results were available (as I recall, it was only a day or two afterwards) to let me know everything was OK

Dr. Paredes has performed multiple mammograms for me since my diagnosis of breast cancer in 2005. Her staff is extremely warm and compassionate. Dr. Paredes is very thorough and academic in her consultations with a pleasant bedside manner. She is very active in promoting breast health and the prevention of breast cancer.
