He came out to look at my chimney. He told me that he needed a $500 deposit before he would meet with me. He emailed me an estimate and we later met at a home repair store for the necessary purchases for the chimney work. He measured the height of the chimney with a tool he had, and he never used a ladder when he was at our house. He did look up our chimney inside the house. He said that we had to have a fabricator and do some welding work from the stove up to the chimney. He kept coming up with excuses for why he couldn't finish my job. He said that he was having complications with the welders/fabricators, he was sick with vertigo, etc. I gave him warnings that if he didn't get it done, I would need to find someone else who could finish the job. I even went out and bought a 40 foot, commercial grade ladder so that he would have no excuse. I requested if a full refund for the deposit considering he did no work. He still has my $500 deposit and has yet to start the job.
Description of Work: I hired him to put a liner in my chimney.
