Style Roofing

Too bad. For the most part, the completed work was quite satisfactory. But when we had two questions, the first led to a testy phone conversation and our second question received no response. There's more to a successful project than the bottom line. Maybe pay a bit more and increase your chances of receiving what you would regard as respectful, non-defensive communications and responsive customer service.

We chose Style Roofing after getting five estimates for a new roof, gutters, and gutter toppers to protect against leaves and other debris. The Style estimator (Rob) was very professional and well prepared, and gave us a reasonable estimate of price and a good explanation of the process we could expect. The roofing crew started a week earlier than first estimated, was extremely well organized, and finished the job in two days (because of the searing heat). The roof looks great, and cleanup was terrific. Similarly, the gutter installation crew was well organized and clearly knew what they were doing. In short, they all did a BEAUTIFUL job. We've very pleased and are already getting compliments from our neighbors. Style Roofing met and exceeded our expectations.

They did an excellent job. They came out promptly to give us a quote and it was the lowest of 3 quotes. In one case it was using the identical material and in the other it was comparable. Knowledgeable, professional, and direct, you can tell they've done a lot of roofing and know their stuff. They replaced the roof, installed new flashing, and replaced 5 plywood sheets completing the work in a single day.

Best ever.

The most inefficient, uncooperative, dishonest company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. To give you an idea about what kind of horrible people these are, they actually sued me for defamation based on a similar review I posted to Google. They sued me for $250,000.00, claiming I had caused them to suffer "exposure to public infamy, scandal and disgrace." Fortunately, the judge dismissed the case and is ordering Style Roofing to reimburse me for the legal fees I incurred defending myself.

Overall, Style Roofing, Inc. greatly exceeded our expectations! Nick Perkins (sales consultant and co-owner) was terrific to work with; customer service oriented, no high-pressure sales tactics, knowledgeable, and extremely responsive in assisting us with the learning process and roofing product we ultimately chose – CertainTeed Landmark Pro Architectural shingles. As such, Nick was invaluable in explaining the insurance claim / adjustor process and as our technical advocate, ensured he accompanied the adjustor during the inspection of our wind/hail damaged roof; this aspect was vital to the overall success of the project. Furthermore, Nick was never late for an appointment and responded to all of our emails or phone calls the same day; very impressive. When it came to price, Nick presented us with a brochure and an estimate for differing Composition and Architectural shingles and accessories (i.e., new gutters and downspouts, fascia rake wrap / trim replacement, etc.). The estimate came in at, or below three other estimates we obtained. Nick’s straight-forward honest persona, combined with a fair price and the fact that Style Roofing Inc. has been in business for over 25-years in Northern Virginia and received a preponderance of Outstanding (A+++) ratings from Angie’s List was more than enough for us to decide to contract them for the job. Anyways, at the end of the day, price was not our number one consideration, correct installation was. Style scheduled the work for a temperate, rain-free day during the calendar time-frame we had requested. The crew (6-8 individuals) arrived at 0630 hours and began their prep; the foreman, Javier, back-briefed us on the scope of work to ensue and politely answered any questions we had. The crew worked in unison and precision in removing our existing roof and installing the underlayment (done by mid-day); Javier was continually supervising and spot-checking their workmanship. During the lunch hour Nick showed up to see how things were going; as homeowners it was great to see a contractor that actually places such a high value on managerial oversight and quality control; our response to Nick – things are going magnificently! During the afternoon the crew installed the shingles, ridge vent, etc. It really was a thing of beauty to see the transformation of our roof. Javier and crew cleaned up as they worked and upon completion they all went into clean-up mode for a good hour. For a roof that required over 30 squares of shingles, we did not find one nail on the grass, sidewalk, or driveway. Javier and I did a final walk-around visual (roof looked outstanding) and verified all debris was recovered. Overall, the roofing crew and foreman were extremely proficient, professional, and respectful of our home. Over the next two days Style’s sub-contractors installed new gutters (with guards), downspouts, and rake wrap / fascia trim. Since completion it has rained very hard several times and we have yet to notice any issues whatsoever. Upon payment Nick presented us with an invoice receipt and a completion certificate for our insurance company. Nick reiterated Style Roofing’s 10-year warranty on Workmanship and directed us also to CertainTeed’s website for product registration; Landmark Pro architectural shingles have a limited Lifetime manufacturer’s warranty. In closing, as a retired military officer / couple, my wife and I can honestly say without any reservation that if your home requires roof replacement you’ll be extremely happy you chose Style Roofing!

Things went well, the shingles were added to the spots and the repairs blended well with the rest of the roof.

We are pleased to have had Style Roofing replace a hail-damaged roof and install new gutters on our home. Prior to undertaking the work, our contact person (Nick Perkins) outlined the work to be done and promptly answered all questions and concerns that we had. The work was completed and the clean-up finished in one day, and our one concern regarding a gutter installation was satisfactorily addressed. Style Roofing is an experienced, efficient and highly professional roofing company, which we would recommend to anyone.

The price was competitive and the Style installation team was professional and efficient. They finished a 45-square roof in one and one-half days and left the yard very clean. I am not qualified to judge the work quality at the felt-and-shingle level, but they installed the Certainteed product line components needed to address all the requirements (underlayment, flashing, ventilation, etc.) and I feel confident in the work.

The workers arrived late in the day and seemed rushed to finish the job before nightfall.  During the next several rains, my roof was leaking and after 2 calls to the owner, someone came out and repaired an improperly installed seal around a vent in the roof.
I have attempted 3 times to contact the vendor/owner directly to discuss a partial reimbursement for the cost to repair the ceiling damage to a bedroom and have received no response.  He will not answer my phone calls or text messages.  I consider this very poor business practice and would not recommend this company.  Apparently, I will have to pay for the damage repair myself.

Excellent experience and results!  We have used Style Roofing in the past to fix a roof leak and were happy to use them again for our new roof.  They also arranged for new gutters.  They were very efficient and professional, finishing in just two days. They fully cleared the yard of all debris and leftover materials.  We could not have asked for a better experience.

Flat roof leaked occasionally, they good good about repairing it for about 5 years. After 7 years later I am it is leaking again and thy are not standing by their work even for a repair. I was referred to another vendor. Now I am in a position to replace it again

Everything was great, and one of the co-owners, Nick Perkins, called to be sure all went as planned and that I was pleased.  
 Wonderful communication, contract detailed, willingness to explain and discuss the present roof and the to be installed roof and options, plus after informing the firm that I needed more than one day's notice of the installation date due to being a teacher, a Saturday date was selected so that I would not need to find a qualified substitute for my students.  I would highly recommend this company for the whole process from initial phone call to inspection to installation of a new roof and skylights!
I telephone Nick in July of 2015 due to three hail storms occurring during March to July, 2015 about possible hail damage.  He inspected the roof the next day free of charge and volunteered to meet with my home insurance should they wish to discuss the siding damage that he noted. 

I actually had other bidders tell me, "I don't know how Style does it.  You should take their bid."
We did.
Nicely done.

Sales pitch was nice and simple, straightforward, no games.  Clarified materials, and gave nice straightforward advice.
Promised that it would be done in one day-- ended up taking two.
Lawn wasn't cleaned up as much as I'd like--we have pets and small children
But the price was lower by a very significant margin (like half!) than other quotes-- for the exact same materials, and professional service.
Two years later-- and we haven't had any issues.

Style Roofing is the best.  They were the most knowledgeable about construction and roofing of any of the 5 companies I sought bids from.  At no time did they try to oversell us as all the other companies did.  The best part about the whole experience was that they had the lowest price.
They did everything they said they were going to do, when the said they would do it.  The crew kept the site clean and was respectful of our home and landscaping.
I will hire Style again, if I should ever need another roof.
 

The work went well and was completed in a day. The crew showed up early and worked until the job was done and clean up was completed. The roof looks great and the cost was comparable to several other companies we contacted.

The job went great. They explained every step of the process and were very friendly.  We had a lot of snow that year so we had to wait for  the snow to melt but as soon as the weather cleared they were on the job.  They were the best price too after I sought out 5 different quotes before finding them..

The service was excellent. They left the area very clean and they did a good job. They were very prompt. What stood out the most were their professionalism, promptness, and the quality of the job.
