Tree Service
Mr. Lindemann's employees are courteous, quick, and efficient at their appointed tasks, but as Mr. Lindemann collects payment installments he becomes harder and harder to contact, does not show up when he says he will, and does not return phone calls.
Mr. Lindemann's crew made quick work of the felling and partial removal of the trees in our yard, but during the course of the day part of Mr. Lindemann crew departed the work site to do trim work that some of our neighbors had contracted for. At the end of the work day when Mr. Lindemann departed with his crew, the tree limbs that he left piled along the curb extended five (5) feet into the roadway, partially obscuring the flow of traffic. Mr. Lindemann returned to the work site the following day and continued with the work started on the previous day. At this time Mr. Lindemann began trying to increase the cost of the job to cover costs he claimed he would incur by renting a stump grinder from a rental center. Over the course of the day Mr. Lindemann quoted three (3) different costs that he would have to pay to rent a stump grinder for one (1) day of use: $400, $200, and $85.
The work was not completed in the 2 days that Mr. Lindemann estimated on the quote. Mr. Lindemann stated he would return with his staff on the following day to do the stump grinding and complete the cleanup, but did not return until three (3) days later. When he did return to the worksite, Mr. Lindemann did a partial amount of cleanup, but left considerable debris along the curb of the street, additional debris in the yard, the stumps still untouched, and tools and litter (e.g. drink bottles and cups) scattered around the yard.
Six (6) days after beginning the job Mr. Lindemann had a man that works for him and who owns a stump grinder do a partial grinding of the tree stumps (note that Mr. Lindemann did not need to rent a grinder as he stated above). At the end of the work day the stumps were still six (6) inches above grade and none of the above ground roots had been touched. When Mr. Lindemann returned to the work site three (3) days later he stated he would be glad to do the "no charge" work quoted by "Arkansas" for $100 above the contracted price. Mr. Lindemann also stated that we would have to pay an additional $50/hour for any additional work to be done on the stumps and the roots.
The stump grinding that was performed resulted in a considerable amount of additional debris accumulating in the yard. When confronted with the fact that the debris had not been removed per the terms stated in the contract, Mr. Lindemann stated that he would return the following day and finish the job. Seventeen (17) days have passed since Mr. Lindemann last visited the work site and none of the debris has been removed. Two (2) small piles of debris still exist along the curb of the street, and two massive piles of debris (one greater than 3 feet high more than 6 feet in diameter, the 2nd pile almost 3 feet high and about 4 feet in diameter) and still remain in the yard. He also had not made any effort to contact us regarding the unfinished work, and has not returned phone calls made to his cell phone.
