SCHEWELS FURNITURE

My husband and I went searching for new furniture for our bedroom, living room, and dining room. As we had just moved to the area, we went to multiple furniture stores to decide on what/where to purchase. We ended up buying a loveseat, chair, and dining room set. Since we had moved into the home 10 days prior, but our furniture hadn't yet arrived, we asked if we could have the loveseat off the showroom floor. The manager told us no and we'd only have to wait "a few days longer". In actuality, we are having to wait at least four more days (or longer if it doesn't come in on the first truck) and I felt his comment was rude and condescending. It may not be "policy" to sell items off the floor, but a little compassion would have gone a long way with me and my sore tush. In addition, it was only after we made the purchase that it was mentioned that the dining room set would have to be put together. While I am not opposed to putting together the furniture, it would have been nice for this tidbit to be mentioned before we purchased the furniture. And at the price we paid, I would have expected a higher quality furniture. If I wanted to put together furniture, I would have gone to Ikea and spent a lot less. Not sure if I'll visit this store again or not. If I decide to go back to Schewel, it will probably be to the Winchester store, where I felt better served. In Front Royal, I had the feeling items were omitted or flat out lied about in order to get the sale.
