I had an extremely frustrating experience with "Best" Exterminating. Several major issues made this encounter unpleasant and disappointing as a customer: Failure to Communicate Clearly: The company never made it clear that payment would be due regardless of whether the groundhog was actually caught. The technician even stated that payment wouldn’t be required until the job was completed. If customers are expected to pay for failed attempts, that absolutely needs to be communicated upfront. No Effort to Follow Up: Once the trap was set and failed to catch the groundhog, I received no follow-up at all. For more than three months, there was no communication—no updates, no additional attempts to resolve the issue, and no check-ins about the status of the job. Unreasonable and Unexpected Billing: After months of total silence, the company sent me an invoice and insisted I pay for a service that didn’t deliver results. When I questioned this, they explained that trapping isn’t always successful, which is understandable. However, if the risk of failure is placed entirely on the customer while still charging full price, this must be explained clearly before the service begins. Lack of Empathy or Accountability: The company showed no understanding of how poorly this situation reflected on them. Instead of addressing the clear gaps in communication or offering any kind of resolution, they chose to stand by their policy without acknowledging their failure to inform me of it.

Best Exterminating Svc Inc were horrible. They sprayed and we still had bugs and we called them back if they will come and re-spray and they told me no, so they obviously weren't guaranteeing their services. We had horrible customer service and they were not upholding, there ended the contract.

Sprayed pesticide. Noticed hardly any difference. Did not spray in all locations around the home and seemed liked they sprayed just water for insecticide.

ʺBestʺ sprayed for roaches in a metal barn. Technician did not use any protective gear so we were suspect of the strength of the pesticide. The work was ʺguaranteedʺ for a month. I called after 2 weeks as roaches were still everywhere and was told RUDELY that they do not offer any guarantees. My main problem with this company is the attitude of the owner. I have never felt compelled to write a review before but I must say... beware when you contract this company. I have never experienced such rude and outright nasty customer service. That is when I could get a call back at all. I guess they have enough business and don't need mine! Or the business of the three other people that apparently called another company after dealing with Best. Not a single roach left after one visit from the other company... and what great customer service. Imagine that...

They were very helpful and professional

Charlie was punctual, friendly and knowledgeable. He listened to our concerns and offered good information on what could be done to deal with current and potential issues. Because it was a rather rainy day, he was unable to spray the exterior of the house and garage but assured us that once the weather decided to cooperate they would be back at no extra charge to take care of it.

The individual from Best Exterminating arrived on time and was very thorough. He explained what he was going to do, the schedule for future visits, costs, and the treatment he would provide one this first visit. He was very meticulous in during this first visit and made sure he sprayed in all possible areas--both inside and out.
He wore booties to ensure no dirt got on the floors or rugs and cleaned up any residue left from the spraying. Overall, we were extremely please with the service and responsiveness.

The whole process was surprisingly painless considering the shock of finding termites.

They do a good job, they come once a month, and I haven't found any pest, I don't have any problems.

This is a family owned operation. They are responsive and meticulous about their work.

HOW THINGS GOT MUCH BETTER

After my original experience (below), one of the neighbors who recommended Best Exterminating to me called the company, to inquire why my service was so disappointing when they've had the highest regard for the company. Best Exterminating immediately called me to make amends. They apparently didn't understand the urgency of my need to remedy the woodpecker problem (we need to get the exterior of the house patched and painted for renters moving in), and they had been swamped with business.

Best Exterminating fit an examination and treatment into their busy schedule within three days of our phone conversation. They also directed a wildlife specialist my way, for further methods to deter those pesky woodpeckers. That fellow will be coming out tomorrow to give me the best economical recommendations and service he can.

I'm pleased with the resolution of this issue and thank Best Exterminating for doing what it took to make things right.

ORIGINAL REVIEW

On the recommendation of my neighbor, I called Best Exterminating to come out to check on the cause for extensive woodpecker damage to our house. I had to call twice to get an appointment made. While he was punctual and quite nice, the employee who came out was afraid of climbing a ladder to actually investigate the damage. I'd driven 1.5 hours to meet the guy (one way), so my time and gas money were wasted. We discussed the company's services and a possible contractual agreement once the woodpecker problem was resolved.

The employee said he would have someone call to make another appointment to come out to the house to examine the problem. I didn't hear anything that week.

The following week I tried calling Best Exterminating twice, but all I got was dead air -- the call wouldn't connect. At first I thought it was my phone, but I tried another number and the call went right through. I tried the company number a third time and still, dead air. Maybe they were having phone issues?

I gave up that week and got busy with taxes and other stuff. Two more weeks passed and still, no contact from the company. Did they want my business?

Finally I called them 10am Monday morning. The woman who answered was nice and said the guy who came out told her that I would call them (okay, let's assume I'm misremembering ... I guess Best Exterminating is so busy they don't need to follow up on leads). Anyway, I told her that I'd tried calling the week following the appointment and gotten dead air ... and also that the employee said they'd call me. She was pleasant, apologized and said that she'd have someone from the company call me in the next day or two to make another appointment.

It is now Friday and I have heard nothing. I've now wasted at least a month giving this company an opportunity to work with us. They have lost servicing the initial issue and they have lost a potential contract with us going forward. (We have contracts with other companies for routine maintenance on other house systems.)

This service call was my annual termite inspection. Gary is prompt, courteous, and very professional. The company is dedicated to providing the most professional, thorough, and efficient service every time. I had a bad termite infestation in 2004 and after interviewing several companies including the "big name" ones, I chose Best Exterminators to do the job. It was completed immediately with expert attention to taking care of my property and safe-guarding my health and that of my pets. They offer an annual renewal policy to inspect for further termites and treat if necessary for $75/year. I receive a call each spring to set up a date and Gary does a complete inspection of my home and garage. The original treatment was immediately effective and there has been no sign of any insect problems since then. I highly recommend this company, I would not trust my most costly asset to any other company.

Annual Termite inspection warranty service. I had a termite infestation in 2006 that needed to be addressed quickly as the termites were swarming all through my living room. I called 3 different services for an estimate; 2 nationally know services and the local service Best Exterminating. Most were prompt but Gary (owner) from Best was by far the most professional and reasonably priced. He was thorough, very knowledgeable, and checked everything completely (with measurements) before carefully explaining the required treatment. He answered every question and showed the most knowledge of the 3 companies, as the other 2 servicemen were pushy, vague, and evasive. I contracted for Best to treat my home and it was done quickly, with the ultimate care for my property, health and belongings. I have continued with Best to carry the annual warranty policy, after the initial warranty was up, and he comes every Spring to check that there is no further damage or sign of those invasive destroyers. Harriet (owner/office manager) calls each year to remind me that the time for the annual check has arrived and it is scheduled to MY time. Always professional, prompt, thorough and a complete delight to deal with-I would never go anywhere else. Their honesty is what sold me! Don't trust anyone else with your home.

They came and sprayed a couple of times and I don't have any more problems since. It was a very pleasant experience. They were very efficient and on time. They got the job done.

They are prompt and I schedule the service through a lady over there who takes the calls. They come on a bi-monthly basis. They always call ahead of time before they come so that they have access to the house. They make sure someone is at the house before they come. They are always reliable, prompt and on time. Their price is also pretty good.
