Description of Work: Fixed the power supply that was making the wide screen TV take minutes to come on. Fixed it quickly, let me know promptly and the whole thing took just days. Returned the used parts so I could see what they'd done. You pay a fee for them to troubleshoot, and then if you want to proceed with the fix they recommend, that payment counts toward the repair.

 + -1 moreWe had replaced a television bulb with a Sony bulb and had the screen go out on us. Our Sony is over nine years old, and the bulb is one we bought from Sony in 2010. We thought we might have a bad bulb. We had called the TV Shop outside of business hours. The TV Shop called us promptly on the next business day, sent a technician out within two hours. The technician made sure that he had the correct manual for our older Sony television model before he came. He called when he was on his way and arrived promptly. He opened up the machine, identified the problem and fixed it, without trying to sell us any unnecessary parts. Told us that our bulb had another 1500 hours on it, and that we didn't need to replace it! Since we are using the cable remote for the machine, he had me pull out the original remote. He used it to pull up the system menu and check a number of different internal items. Pointed out one factor that we might want to consider for the future, but told us that it was not essential, it was a matter of preference, and that fixing it could be very expensive. Said that he would look it up and let us know the current cost. TV Shop let us know the cost that afternoon! These guys will have our business any time that we need work on one of our television sets!
Description of Work: Repaired an older Sony television, where we thought the television screen had died. The TV Shop technician examined the machine, identified the problem, and fixed it. He didn't try to sell us any unnecessary parts.

 + -1 moreThey did a great job. Diagnosed the problem quickly, ordered the part, and replaced it. It's frustrating that TV repair is so expensive, but it's still cheaper than getting a new TV. The TV Shop staff were courteous, helpful, and did exactly what they promised to do.

 + -1 moreSame day service at home, fixed tv on the spot. Other than the crazy price to fix televisions these days, I have no complaints. TV Shop provided excellent and prompt service, repairman made sure the television functioned and that we were satisfied prior to leaving. Will definitely use TV Shop again. Another plus, they provided a $40 discount for using Angie's List.

Description of Work: Ken tested an expensive piece of equipment for me to simply check the circuits. It was an older piece I use in my business and I was concerned I would need to replace it. As it turned out all the circuits were good but some transistors may have been fried. That saved me time and aggravation.
