I've used Raytech Appliance Service several times and each time I received excellent service. They arrive on schedule and get the work done quickly. They are friendly, courteous, and look for the most obvious, least expensive fix first. On this call, my daughter's washer wasn't cycling properly and would cut off in mid wash/rise. Raymond disassembled the washer, pulled out the filter/screen and cleaned it out. That sounds like an easy job but on this washer model it was much more difficult than it sounds. He said if it didn't work it would be a switch or an electronic board. It worked perfectly. He also recommended switching laundry detergent because he noticed the brand she was using probably caused bearing failure. Good people, decent prices, honest, and fair. Don't be afraid to call them...they won't try to rip you off.

There's a modification to that and he had to deliver the part very professional, mild mannered guy and took two weeks and he called and said okay i got the part and he came back ad did it, a great job and t things he problem is gone away and then we also looked at thing and think the way we were putting something the freezers that may have prompted that we don't know for certain either way the issue is gone away the froze build up is gone away. He was very professional, very mild mannered and he answered questions. He was methodical; it's just that demeanor -- he presented himself well and he knew what he was doing.

The technicians are very good. However, you can never reach the main office by telephone. Email seems to be the best method to communicate with this provider.

20 days later, still no repair or replacement of dishwasher. Initial call-out was fairly prompt and courteous, but everything after has been a train-wreck. There seems to be very poor communication between office, technician, and customer. Known replacement parts/kit were not even ordered until 12 days after initial service appointment, with the office staff citing "research" as the issue repeatedly. It took repeated badgering/phone calls to the office/technician to move the process forward, which still has not resulted in unit being fixed or replaced. Not recommended.

My microwave oven failed. I called Raytech without doing my homework and before I joined Angie's List. Ray (a nice guy) came out and diagnosed a bad magnetometer. He determined that it was still under warrantee - which was very nice. He said they needed to order one. After about two weeks the magnetron arrived and was replaced. The microwave worked while the technician was here. Later that evening, it failed again exhibiting the same symptoms as before. I called Raytech and they sent a tech. He worked with it for a while and then said he'd like to take it to the shop for testing. This seemed plausible to me. It then disappeared into a black hole of excuses. They could not duplicate the failure, we want another tech to test it, etc. After multiple attempts to reach them, I got ahold of a real person on the phone (no answer to email and other phone messages I left). She suggested that they reinstall it, since it seemed to be working. "Fine, do it"' I said. "But the problem is we cannot come until May 17th (another eight days) as we have appointments ahead of you" was the reply. In the month that I was waiting apparently the Raytech revenue stream needed refreshing from new clients with easier problems while my problem languished - perhaps because it was not as profitable?.

They have now had my microwave for over 5 weeks and done absolutely nothing. They are unresponsive to phone calls (unless you catch a human and pin them down) and appear indifferent to customer service. I have been waiting since March 31st to get my appliance fixed. My service date is now June 15th. I'm done...

I do not recommend Raytech. Find somebody else.

When the provider arrived he was young and looked in experienced. I explained the problem he pushed a few buttons on my dishwasher and determined the problem was a drain issue and I need to replace the drain pump. He never took the time to determine if the drain line was clogged or if he could clean the line. He took the MOD and serial number of my washer as was suppose to get back with me on cost. That never happened. After two days I called RAYTECH asking about the status and they told me the could not find parts for my dishwasher. I told them I had located the parts on the internet and parts were available. I sent the web site to RAYTECH and waited another 2 days for a reply, which I never got. I called back again on 9/23/14 asking on status and got the same reply, the technician is working on it?blah...blah...blah!

At this point I wasted $68.00 for a service call that never happened and I wound up going to SEARS for repair. I believe RAYTECH is a pass through operations and will hire anybody to work for them. Someone in the appliance repair business should have known where to find parts. Why should the customer have to do the leg work for them?

Bottom line, buyer be ware. I would never use the company again.

Initial contact with Raytech (via telephone) was very friendly and professional.  After discussing our appliance issue, Ray was recommnended and assigned as our technician.  Ray conducted the initial assessment on 2/25/14 and provided two repair options that were in accordance with the manufacturer service bulletin (replace parts or electrical bypass).  I was then provided with a written estimate of parts/labor to conduct the repair.  Once the parts costs were determined, we sheduled the repair appointment.  Again, Ray was our technician and completed the repair.  On both occassions, Ray arrived promptly at the scheduled service time and was both professional and friendly.  Additionally, the office staff was kept me informed throughout of the repair times and estimates.   For future appliance repairs, I intend to use Raytech.

I was pretty happy with the technicians that came out to repair my washer, dryer, etc. I guess Raytech was okay. They said it wasn't economical for them to repair my washer. So I bought a new one. I spoke to them very little. They told me my washer wasn't repairable. I believed them, so I got a new washer. They came right out. They came when they said they were going to. They were professional.

Repairman was prompt, courteous and efficient. Since this is an older house (built in 70's) and an old dishwasher, he had a bit of trouble getting to everything under the sink. However, he was able to effect a repair and save me from replacing the dishwasher. He explained what he was going to do, showed me what he was doing and, upon completion, showed me what he had done.

All ended well despite a VERY shaky start.  The technicians were very professional and knowledgeable.  I originally called on 1/2 and did not have the service completed until 1/17.  After the original visit from the tech, there was a complete breakdown in what parts needed to be ordered.  Additionally, the follow up from the office was non-existing; no one ever called me back to follow up or to re-schedule the appointment, I had to call them.  Once the manager got involved, everything moved quickly and the quality of the work was terrific.  I would use them again.

They were selected under my extended service plan for my washer and dryer. There were two appointments set up. They didn't show up either day claiming it was a new computer program and staff was not trained properly to handle extended service plans on that program. They did reschedule, however, they were unable to repair my washer due to cost. I had to have another company come out for the repair which added days and time to the washer repair.  The dryer repair went OK.

I purchased an LG range and microwave in December from a local big box store.  Three weeks later the microwave started making a loud screeching type sound.  Very frustrating.  I called the store, since it's under warranty for the first year, and was told to call a company in Texas - I live in Virginia.  They then gave me the name of a local company to call.  I checked the reviews on Angie's List and Yelp; the reviews were terrible in every way.  I thought I'd wait to see if the sound would stop and it did for over a month then started again.  I called the store again and told them I wanted a reputable repair company to come out.  If I'm taking the time to be here, I want the problem fixed instead of continued service issues and repairpeople with attitudes (like the first company they told me to call).  They said Raytech in Fredericksburg could be called.  I called Raytech and Lionel was very patient and understanding.  He listened carefully as I described the problem.  (My concern was since the sound was sporadic, they may not be able to diagnose it.)  Lionel was great at troubleshooting.  He had a couple of ideas of what the likely problem was and wanted to be sure the technician who came out had all the parts that might be needed, depending on the nature of the repair.  He scheduled the appointment and told me the technician would call when he was on his way.  On the day of the repair, Robert called to let me know he would be here soon.  Robert was extremely professional, competent and committed to solving the problem on the first trip.  He really understands microwave repairs and explained how replacing the part he had should solve the problem.  (I believe it was a motor, it had to do with the turntable.)  I was so concerned the microwave wouldn't make the horrible sound when the technician arrived that I recorded it on my cell phone when it was misbehaving to play it for Robert so he could hear it when he arrived for the service call.  That was helpful, to have a recording of the annoying sound because, of course, it didn't happen when Robert was there.
I highly recommend Raytech for any type of appliance repair.  Beginning with Lionel, who took the initial call, obtained all the necessary information on the microwave, the serial number, etc.. to Robert, an extremely competent professional technician, they were super.  What I value about Raytech is they listened first and considered solutions.  They really were committed to solving the problem and customer satisfaction.  Although mine was a warranty repair, I wouldn't hesitate to call Raytech for any appliance that may need a repair.  I'd gladly recommend them to my friends and family.

I called Raytech on Friday November 9th and told them I needed my range repaired by Thanksgiving. They set up an appointment on the following Tuesday. He was able to repair the burner on that first service call. I was very impressed that he cleaned the plugs on the heating element and deemed it functional instead of automatically replacing it. He was very courteous and friendly and enjoyed the Jetrhro Tull music  I had playing while he was there.

I did not get a 'same day' appointment. It was 3 days later.  The initial visit involved the tech to verify serial numbers and check the ice maker operation.  Time spent mostly on telephone calls.  The second visit, 3 weeks later, involved instaliing the repair part, a circuit board, which took about 5 minutes.  The cost of the part was reasonable as compared to prices from an internet search, however, I thought the labor was excessive for the time spent.  The techs were cordial, professional, and arrived on time.
