We're extremely happy we chose Carlos and his team for our basement renovation and front porch rebuild! He was responsive and communication was straightforward from start to finish. The end result is just what we wanted, and Carlos and Fryda gave us some great ideas to achieve the look we were going for. The finished work has a high-quality finish that we're really pleased with. Considering our house is over 100 years old, the ways in which they adeptly handled the inevitable quirks and challenges was impressive. We'd happily recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled contractor.

Hiring Preferred Construction was the best decision we made for this project. From the first meeting to the final inspection, Carlos and his team were top-notch. The work they did was excellent, their knowledge and suggestions were great, and their work ethic was beyond reproach. I can't say enough good things about them. Carlos and his team installed new carpets and LVP flooring in my home. Their work was extremely professional, reasonably priced and the floors look amazing! The living room is a whole new space now. Carlos and his team are amazing to work with! He's great at sticking to a reasonable budget and timeline and communicates clearly and effectively when things need to change. He has come in early once or twice when we were working with him. We have used him for several projects over the past 6 years from a small flooring update to a full kitchen renovation. We have recommended him to friends and we recommend him to anyone in the DC area. Before is the lower image. His team removed carpet from our home which had been there for 50 years. The wood underneath was rough but they were able to make it look new (top image).

Carlos and his team were very professional, friendly and prompt. Their first project was to build a walk-in closet in the owner’s suite. Carlos provided a project summary, which included the steps in the process, the estimated costs, schedule and other terms. The closet came out amazing and we are happy we have more space to hang our clothes and store other things! We would both recommend and rehire Carlos and his team!

Carlos and his team did a great job doing a full basement apartment remodel. They brought everything down to the studs and built it into a modern apartment including the bathroom and kitchen. They offered great pricing for the value I received. This was remodeling an English basement apartment in the historic Capitol Hill district in Washington, DC. You always find snags working with old houses and Carlos presented good solutions to each problem. I would use them again.

Amazing!!! Carlos and his crew were everything a homeowner could ask for when it came to planning, demolishing, and renovating a bathroom. The price was right and the crew was very professional. Additionally, the crew cleaned up the site every day. This was a plus given we were living through the renovation. Carlos and his team were punctual and communicated regularly on the status of the job. What’s even better is it came in under budget and quicker than initially expected. We will definitely use Preferred Construction for our next home improvement project!
