Appliance Repair
I was informed by my warranty company that within 24 hours of filing my claim, I would be contacted for service by GSA. I had never heard of the company so I got on Angie's List to check out reviews. As you can see, communication seems to be a MAJOR problem, and in my case, he never even called to schedule anything. So, after 24 hours, I called back to the home warranty company and informed them of the negative contact and of the reviews on this website, and was assigned the next contractor on the list, Sears. And they called me within an hour for scheduling. So, I never had any contact with this company, but after seeing the reviews, I believe I was fortunate.

We gave up and handled on our own, after giving him $75 to "diagnose the problem"

It went very smoothly. He diagnosed the problem quickly, and as soon as the warranty company shipped him the part, he came right over and installed it. There have been no problems since.

Appliance Repair
I placed my claim online through my home warranty site on 3/17/2014 and was contacted by GSA on 18 March 2014 to come look at the problem and possibly repair it. The appointment was between 2?4pm. When I scheduled the appointment I made certain that they could make those times because I had to leave home around 5pm for school. They said it wouldn?t be a problem. I received a call at 4:00pm, the end time frame of the appt. to inform me that he (Gene) would be running about 15 mins late. At that time I asked if he was sure because there would be no need to come out and waste both of our time if he could not get the repair complete or diagnose the problem. He stated that he would still have enough time to see what was going on. At 4:45 he showed up with the excuse of traffic. Needless to say I was highly annoyed but I needed my washer fixed because I have two kids under 4 years of age at home and they make lots of dirty clothes. I had to wait longer than I wanted for him to show up and ended up being late to class. If he was actually only 15 mins late this would have been fine but he was actually 45 mins late. A phone call at 4:30pm to advise me of the traffic would have been nice then we could have rescheduled.
He did his analysis and said he would have to order parts and that it should take no more than a week for them to come in,
given they were accepted by the warranty company.
I called on 20 March 2014 to make sure that the parts had been approved since I had heard nothing from him and he said they had and he was waiting on them to come in.
I called again on Thursday, 27 March 2014 to follow up because it had been over a week and I had yet to hear anything. When I got Gene on the phone first he told me it had not been a week...which I had to correct him on. Then he said he just got the parts in today and was going to call me later today, but I beat him to it. He said he was at an appt and he would call me after he was done for the day so we could schedule the repair..
He did not call until 11am Friday 28 March 2014 to inform me that he could be over within the hour. I asked over where? He said at my house for the repair. I had to inform him that I was at work because he never called back to schedule
an appointment. He said oh I thought you had the day off. I am uncertain how he could have assumed that and gave him no indication to think such. Needless, to say I could not get my washer fixed because he was completely booked for the rest of Friday and Saturday.
So I scheduled with him for Tuesday 1 April 2014 between the time of 2-4pm and it was like déjà vu. I ended up calling him at 3:45pm to see if he had remembered and he informed me that he would be an hour late?I said that it would have been nice had he called to inform me of such so I could have made other arrangements. He said he didn?t know until at the moment I
called him and he was just about to call me when I called him. Needless to say he did not show up until 5:00pm for the appointment. Once he arrive at my house he seemed short and annoyed with me...and I am confused by this since for two weeks he has not adhered to one time he has given me and wonder why I am annoyed. After 45 mins (5:45pm) of so called work he walks out the door and says we can wash clothes now. I go to start a load of clothes and guess what...error code F51 pops up...ironically the same one that I had before I called him. I called him back at 6:11pm and of course he was unavailable to answer his phone.
So as of now I have been given the run around it has been over two weeks without a washer (which is pretty detrimental in my household) and we have clothes piling up all over the house. Throughout this entire experience I felt that Gene lacked proper communication, he was never prompt about appointments and his attitude was sub par considering I am paying for a service that I have yet to receive. Not to mention since he ran so late this time I had to miss class tonight and for nothing...I still have a washer that will not wash clothes. I wish people would understand that people set appointment time-frames for a reason and if you can't adhere to them please be courteous to others and call them in advance.

The employee Gene was very professional. He showed up on time and completed the project timely. He was very thorough and detailed in his explanations of the project. He was knowledgeable and I would recommend his services.
