We rent out our townhouse in VA and the washing machine flooded the basement over July 4th weekend. The service representative pulled up the carpet and carpet padding and put out dehumidifiers and fans to dry out the basement. He was to come back after 3 days to lay down new padding and relay the existing carpet back down. On Wednesday, when he was due to return, we called him because he did not show up. He said he had been in a car accident and he would try to get someone else from the company to come out or he would try to come back himself. We didn't hear from him, so we kept calling. No one ever called back. After about a week, he called and said he had been injured in the accident and he would come back in the next day or two. That was over a week again and we have again made numerous calls which have not been returned.
Description of Work: Dry out flooded basement, replace padding and relay existing carpet.

Hello, I was in a major car accident (someone hit me, 75 mph impact) and was seriously injured. My vehicle was totaled and it took months to recover and get the insurance company to give me money for a new vehicle. I referred another company, but these people refused to use them or pay the rest of the fees for the job. My primary concern was to dry down the place and prevent mold which was done to industry standards. Putting in the padding and re-tacking the carpet is 10% of the job and easily done by any handyman. These people are being unreasonable. I also have a two year warranty on all of my work which they never took advantage of. As for not returning their calls that is blatantly false. I have been libeled and would love the opportunity to file a lawsuit.
