We are extraordinarily happy with this company! The installation team was terrific (Larry and Derek), but we're particularly pleased with their salesman/technician, Ray Nalls. He understood immediately what our problems were with the old system and pointed out the causes. Then he recommended an ultra-quiet new system that we LOVE. He even pointed out an issue we had with our dryer vent and showed us how to fix it. 34 years in the same house; we never knew it could be so comfortable and so quiet.

Nightmare. Came to house while I was at work to replace parts. Parts were not replaced, problem not solved but I was charged. I hired a 2nd company to look. Verified parts were not replaced. Demanded money back, Davis arrived with cash to pay me back. No apologies only laughed at me.

I've used him for at least 18 years, since I've moved into the house. He does a great job. He is very polite and honest. One year on the fourth of July he came out and took care of a problem I had on the holiday.

As stated in worked performed. In addition, actual problem turned out to be a short in the humidifier system. Not impressed with customer service or attitude of service guys.

They're great that's why we call them. This is not the first time we've had them. My only complaint about them is that they don't come to DC; I can call them for my mother but I can't call them for myself.

A/C went out on a hot weekend and my home warranty couldn't send anybody until Monday. So I called Davis and planned on being reimbursed by the warranty later. Davis was prompt and met me the next day. Friendly, too. When I tried to claim, the warranty said the bill I was charged for parts was about double. So I had the absorb the difference. Then the replaced unit stopped working. Warranty sent their certified tech with a new cheaper part and I never had a problem since (knock on wood).

They are perfect. Fast, offered different options and was willing to put it in the next day. Technicians did very nicely. They cleaned up well. They were very professional and did not waste time.

When I needed my air conditioner unit to be repaired I called Davis, HVAC. While on the phone I asked Mr. Davis whether they worked with HSA Home Insurance. He said he did not but was able to speak to a representative on the phone in order for me to file a claim with them to be reimbursed. I agreed and he was able to see me two hours after my call. I was impressed with his punctuality. That's the only nice thing I can say about my experience with Clay Davis.
Once here he was very rude. He doesn't like working with HSA Home Insurance, which, as a businessman, I can understand why. It extended his visit by 30 minutes while we waited, on hold, for a representative to answer the phone and then do all they needed to do. However, he lectured me in a very condescending tone of voice for the entire 30 minutes. He tried to pressure me to hang up and just write him a check for the money and bypass the HSA insurance altogether. He scolded me for wasting his time. He threatened to just leave if I couldn't give him an answer. This was after he had been here for only 15 minutes!!!!! I explained that, since I was paying for his time, I was going to use the time I had. So he stood there. And when I apologized for the HSA taking so long, he wouldn't respond to me at all.
Once HSA approved all he had written on the invoice to do, he gave them the total of the job. $539. Once he was off the phone with them, he added on a $35 fee under and quot;laborand quot; for me to pay out of my pocket because he, in his words, and quot;wanted it to be a lesson to me.and quot; I was outraged. To make matters worse, once I paid my bill, he continued to sit at my picnic table and tell me a story, which included swear words while my 2 yr. old son was sitting beside me. Unbelievable.
I can assure you I will never again use Davis HVAC for anything and would encourage you to do the same. What a disaster.

My A/C stopped working the previous night. I called at 8 am, got a call back less than 30 min later with a scheduled appointment for 10am the same day. At 9:30 am Mr. Davis knocked at my door,. He had a break between jobs and came by to see what was going on. 20 min later, my A/C was fixed. He has my business from now on. Service call and repair: $200, Service contract $300 (2X per year plus emergency calls).

Mr. Davis arrived a few minutes late, but no big deal there. He was very professional, efficient and was very informative. I subsequently initiated a yearly service contract to service my HVAC. The charge for the yearly service contract may seem a bit exorbitant at face value, but this visit would have cost me $150 anyway (inspection, cleaning and Freon); and I will require 2 service visits a year at a minimum anyway. So, if nothing else goes wrong, I come out even. If something does happen, I've got some peace of mind. Overall, I'd say this was a sucessful inititation of what I hope is a long business relationship.

I have been using Davis HV AC for many years. They are always proffesional and the prices of their work is fair to good. I only question the cost of the maintenance contract but really have no basis to compare it to.

I called in on a hot 4th of July when our AC went out. I was pleasantly surprised when the owner of the company, Mr. Davis himself, came out and got our AC working again (blown starter capacitor on the fan motor and leaky refrigerant.)
Mr. Davis advised that our and quot;economyand quot; system that was installed when the house was built was on its last leg (15 years old.) He was very helpful, and explained a variety of options, and prepared me for what expenses to expect and even discussed with me what tax breaks were available for installing a high efficiency system.
A few months later, the system started to give up the ghost again. Mr. Davis again came out to breathe life into the AC unit the same day I called. During the visit, I decided I was ready to deal with the problem and arranged to replace the system. That day (Thursday) Mr. Davis sketched out an estimate and I signed the work order for an high efficiency Trane system. Next Wednesday, he and his crew showed up and installed a completely new system that day.
I am very happy with the whole experience and recommend Davis HVAC highly!
