Gutter Repair and Replacement
We signed a contract for a certain price (sub-contracted). The job was done and we were handed a bill that was 20% more than our contract price. Their reasoning was they put R20 in our walls (code is only R13) without asking us if we wanted this ?upgrade? and the job was done more than 30 days from the contract date. This was for an addition which we were about to break ground on, which they knew about, so obviously the insulation would not have been installed within 30 days. According to administrative law in our state, any changes in cost, material, or completion date must be in writing, signed off by the owner. This wasn?t done for
either the change in cost or material.
Buyer Beware!

Gutter Repair and Replacement
Their work was appalling! The shelf supports were not centered. The workmen dug numerous holes in the wall with their punch machine. We ended up having to fix the walls and redo the shelving ourselves. They installed the fireplace with the backdrop misaligned and bent. We had to keep after them for at least six months to get it fixed. When they finally fixed it, they installed the glass backwards, with the dusty side in. They scraped the paint off the surround in two places. They jammed the tray so that it would no longer fit. They also pulled the chain curtain so it no longer hung straight. They then installed the gutter supports directly in front of the window panes where they are in the way of our beautiful view! It is going to cost us another $5K to replace the brand new gutters and the soffits because of their terrible work.
