+ 3 moreI am in the process of filing a lawsuit to get a judgment for about $20,000.00 back. He was over-paid and I have to pay more money to fix the work he's done. I have also filed a complaint with DPOR and they are in the process of investigating, and should they find that my account was right, he will have his contractors license taken from him.
Description of Work: Was having $100,000 worth of renovations and additions added to my current house. I hired them on January 2nd and fired them on August 11th, 2008. The job was only suppose to take 3 or 4 months. They weren't even half way done when I fired them. They did shoddy work on my addition, work with the sheetrock. I had to end up getting it textured to hide the bad drywall spackle job. They never put up anything to support my ceiling going into the new additions off the back of my house. They hardly showed up at my house. When they did come (I was lucky if one person came a week), they worked only half a day. After I fired them, I found out that they never got a building permit for my upstairs work (except for the construction of my dormers) and the local building inspector wanted us to tear out all sheetrock to inspect the wiring and plumbing properly. Thankfully, we talked him into just tearing out the sheetrock and floor in our bathroom. I have now been threatened with liens on my house. I paid D & S Contracting, but they never paid their subcontractors, so now I will have to pay them. I'm paying for this job twice!
