SOMMA CERAMICS

Slowwwwww. It’s been over a week and they still aren’t finished. Most days we never knew if they were going to show up or not, if they did show up, the day was already half over. They rarely communicated with us to let us know when or if they would be on the job on any given day. It felt very inconsiderate of them. There is a large patch of damaged grass outside near the faucet where they washed their buckets and mixed their stuff, we are hopeful the grass will recover. We would not hire them again.

Came out to do estimate and told me he would call me back. I left 2 VM, waited a week, then contacted another tile company.

Easy to work with.  Very happy with all the work.

I called Soma Ceramics because of a recommendation I got from a friend. Steve was quick to respond to my call and came out to discuss the job. He said he would email his estimate by the following Monday. Apparently the simple backsplash I wanted wasn't something he wanted to do because he never sent the estimate even after 2 more reminders. I can appreciate being told that you are not interested in the job, but have no respect for someone willing to waste 2 weeks of my time when he had no intention of following through. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

My son and I took two weeks to move all the appliances ( DW, Range, Washer, Dryer, etc.) and a 5 x 5 ft island out of the kitchen, laundry rm., and informal dining area and then tackled 2 layers of flooring plus the 1/4 in luan before we got to the sub-floor. Steve arrived on June 18 and finished on the following Monday, leaving us with a day before our relatives arrived from NH on Tuesday evening. The only way Steve was able to get it done on a short schedule was to work on Saturday and he did, to make his commitment , as originally promised. The final look of this floor is first class and I would again with Steve and Valley Tile in a heart beat. Steve and I have already talked about a balcony deck I want to tile using the same product we used in this project. I have sent Steve pictures of the work in progress and the final look and I am sure he will be happy to share them with you.

Steve Somma answered his business phone and set an appointment within the next two days. Steve arrived at the appointed time and brought sample boards of various Tile products. He is very knowledgeable about tile types, sizes and grouting options and gave his honest opinion on what products would work best and be cost effective for our application. Steve then called with a verbal quote the next day and offered to put it in writing. I was speaking with another tile company at the same time. The quotes were close in price, but Steve gave a much better explanation of what was included in his price and our options. My wife and I agreed that Steve was the right guy for us.
Steve gave us a written quote and we gave him a down payment. We set a start date and he and his crew showed up at the time agreed upon.
He and his crew are very professional, pleasant and easy to work with. After the tear out of the shower Steve pointed out some issues with how the original installation had been performed... he again gave us his recommendation for correcting these issues and getting everything the way it should be.
He repaired and replaced some of the framing in the shower and beefed up some of the framing that remained.
Both toilet valves leaked when the toilets were reinstalled... not surprising, they hadn't been touched in years. He replaced the valves with updated 1/4 turn valves and high quality braided SS supply lines.
We couldn't be more pleased with work Somma Ceramics performed. The look of the tile is fantastic, they really take their time and get things right.
I'd recommend Steve Somma to anyone looking for Tile work.

He did a wonderful job. He was punctual and completed the work in a timely manner, which was excellent considering we only have one bathroom. He is a pleasant individual and very easy to work with. He made some excellent suggestions and seemed quite knowledgeable about his craft. My only negative comment is that it is a very messy job and he didn't clean very well after himself.

Steve was wonderful to work with. Any materials that were needed, he went to purchase instead of making us go to the store each time. He was very consciouentous about his work. He paid great attention to detail.
