Our home warranty company selected Yazd to come out when our A/C wasn't cooling. They recommended that we replace the unit and since it was old and had been having problems for a while we decided to proceed. They came on time, were very nice, and replaced the unit. The price seemed fair. They also replaced our thermostat. Not long after the unit was replaced, we started noticing that after working for a little while the unit would start to put out heat instead of cold air. We called them about it, they came out and looked and said we should replace our attic fan. That made no sense since our attic fan has never worked and we've had no problem with the A/C. We called them again as we continued to have the problem and although they were very nice and came out to take a look, they didn't fix anything. At this point, we have an expensive A/C unit that only sometimes works. We've since had the attic fan fixed, but did confirm with an electrician and another A/C company that the attic fan would make no difference to the performance of the unit. The issue is more likely a problem with the installation, with the unit itself, or with the new thermostat. I'll update this review if Yazd is able to successfully troubleshoot and fix the problem, but so far they've been very passive and I'm doubtful that they're capable or interested in fixing the problem.

I had the exact same experience Andrew C. described in his review. Our insurance provider selected YAZD to handle our AC issue. In the beginning of July, we asked them to come out and take a look because it kept cutting off randomly. We had to call them out four times and each time they said they did not know the cause and could not diagnose it - the last time we asked them to come out was in the middle of August. We also had to request that they send us the invoice after each visit because days afterward, we were still without one; we are still waiting on the invoice from August's service call in fact. We had to predict when it would stop working so we could call them out each time, just to prove that we were, in fact, still having issues. Three out of the four times they came out, our AC unit was completely shut off and not working - it certainly was not working during their last service call in August when they "guessed" it was due to a faulty electric panel box and suggested that we replace the breakers, which we did, and the unit is still not working. Considering the length of time we went without air conditioning, we had to purchase standing fans to make the house somewhat cooler; again, more money out of our own pocket. After the fourth visit, we knew this company would be of no help and every time I requested to speak with a manager/owner, I was told by reception that he/she was unavailable but that the message would be delivered. Still waiting on that phone call. The last call I made to them, I told the receptionist we wanted to go with another company through our insurance provider and she agreed. She said she would call our home warranty company and let them know that we needed a different company to come out and that the insurance provider would call me with info shortly. After a few days of not receiving a call from them, I reached out and they informed me that YAZD had called but had told them THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH OUR UNIT. I said this information was incorrect so our home insurance rep put me on a hold while he researched YAZD's documents they sent and when he returned to the call, he said that YAZD's reports were not adding up and something looked did look fishy. He then gave me options for companies that are at the top of their internal ranking system; YAZD is not at the top for obvious reasons and I gave him the suggestion for them to discontinue offering their services. My advice - this company knows how to bilk home owner's insurance companies; the first time I called our insurance provider after YAZD's initial visit to "reopen the case" since our unit was still wasn't working, the rep told me they had not received any paperwork from them - that was weeks after their service visit. If your insurance provider mentions sending out this company, immediately ask for a different company. Especially if you are pregnant, you have young children, or are elderly; summers in Virginia are rough and I knew after all of this, I did not want someone else to experience the same service. Shame on your company for your dishonesty and selfishness.

AWFUL -- they were late for the appointment. They determined we needed an evaporator coil replaced. The coil was still under warranty so they needed to complete paperwork to get the coil from Carrier. A week later -- still no paperwork, no repair estimate and no return phone calls! Meanwhile the indoor temperature stayed in the high 80s and low 90s. I called the Home Warranty company and asked for another referral. They gave me a different company and said I was due a refund of $41 from Yazd. Numerous phone calls later, no refund and no returned calls.

I was very impressed and highly recommend this company, I'm a professional Engineer PE. We have a 25 year old AC unit that failed. YAZD rep correctly assessed the problem, gave us options and fair pricing. They arrived on time, where very neat and orderly, installed our unit with excellence. And left our home as clean as they found it. I would call them again if I had AC or Heating problem.

Really well. These guys did a great job. They showed up on time. Did the work quickly. Were honest about the work. Gave me a few options and did the work then and there. They even cleaned up after themselves and wore covers over their shoes.

Had to come out 2 separate days. They said that my condenser was bad. My friend told me there was nothing wrong with it. The Freon leaked out and they had to come back out and fill that. They need to be honest to begin with. I had no idea I would have to pay $400.

YAZD mechanical was assigned to do the work by home warranty company. we paid around $1500 out of pocket over what warranty company covered. 2 months after that AC is not cooling again. So we contacted YAZD mechanical and they refused to come over since we were no longer in contract with home warranty company. All we requested was for them to come over and check if there was an issue with the work they did recently, work that was fully paid for!

It didn't sound right so I paid the service call/trip charge (seventy five) and declined the other work (four hundred ten).  The additional work was 3LBs of Freon and cleaning the outside unit coil.  Afterwards I asked an AC guy who lives in the neighborhood (our kids are in school together) to confirm or disprove the diagnosis.  He found no problems other than the service caps (where you hook up gauges and fill the unit) were left pretty loose, hand tight.  He said these caps are known to leak so they usually tighten them down pretty well, or in his case he also puts "leak lock" sealer on them.  He said it's not low on Freon and the outside unit was fine, it didn't need to be cleaned.

You're maybe wondering why I would say "it didn't sound right" ?  Mainly because between the dispatch and when they arrived my tenant found a circuit breaker was tripped and so we reset it and the unit was cooling over the weekend, keeping the house as cold as they wanted.  So if it was 3LBs low would it really cool the house?  Even though it had been cooling fine I thought I might as well keep the service call just in case there was something obvious that was wrong and caused the breaker to trip.  In the end I should have just called my local AC guy instead of bothering with having YAZD Mechanical dispatched by the home warranty company.

Maybe he misread his gauges or is unfamiliar with Carrier units.  Maybe he had a lot of calls that day and forgot to tighten the caps when he left.  Whatever the case I would not recommend this provider.  The only good things are that they came in a reasonable amount of time (five days) for this time of the year and that they showed up within the four hour window scheduled.  Not sure how the prices compare with others since the work they quoted wasn't required and so I didn't get a price from anyone else.

They diagnosed the problem as having puron instead of freon. They brought 4 people to do a job that one man would do and misdiagnosed the problem. He handed me a bill before they did the job but I told them that I would pay after the system is functional. He went on a rant and started swearing. I asked for a business card but he refused saying he would never work for me. He told his people to walk off the job and they stormed off. I called the home company and it went back to his line. He continued to yell at me yet he didn't even lift a screw.  It was the most bizarre, infuriating and unprofessional experience I've ever had in my life.
