We went to Tom Daube, our trusted jeweler for 25 years, for help engraving a little gold disc with the name of a new grandchild. Tom explained he didn't have the proper equipment to do the job economically, then called the New York jeweler who had done others for us, and got a price from them. What a nice gesture! We followed through, and our daughter-in-law is now happily wearing the locket with the names of all of her children. Nice work, Tom. Afterwards, he helped us select some holiday gifts for our older grandchildren. If you are in the market for major diamond purchases, Washington Diamond is the place you should go. But, if you have an unusual need in gemstones and customer jewelry, you will get superb service from Tom and his crew. Highly recommended!

Walter was our sales consultant and we were blessed he was selected to assist us. He was honest and put our wants and desires ahead of his commission. Washington Diamond did a perfect job resizing the rings. They inspected them, checked the settings, cleaned them, adjusted the stones, and returned them looking as good as the day we bought them over ten years ago. When we first bought the rings from them we were delighted with their service and attention and now, with this fix-up visit, we continue to recommend them very highly.

We purchased a diamond ring and wedding bands 25 years ago from Washington Diamond Center. We updated our rings for the 25th anniversary from the same diamond store. Denelle Henretty, sales consultant, was absolutely fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and extremely patient and helpful. She did not rush or pressure us. She helped us select the rings that we are very happy with. She also gave us great price. We were so pleased with her, we ended up buying two more rings from her.

Tom Daube, our favorite jeweler, showed us several stylish pairs of earrings in our price range. We spent about an hour mulling over our choices, settling on a beautiful pair of morganite stones set with an array of 35 or so small diamonds to sparkle up the impression . We shopped early, and Tom committed to exchange our choice for comparable items, should she want to shop. She didn't, and was absolutely delighted with the earrings. Nice going Tom--always sensitive to the customer, with competitive prices and outstanding service.

I really can't say enough good things about Tom and the whole Washington Diamond crew. We originally went out to Washington Diamond before we got engaged, when both my fiance and I were trying to understand engagement rings and the various components of diamonds (cut, clarity, color, and the different scales). We had read some really great reviews about the time this store will spend explaining it all to potential customers, and the fantastic prices they have for the quality of what they do. It was such a great experience that when it came time to buy the engagement ring, my fiance went to Tom first (and last!). The quality is superb, and we both love that it's a small business that's been around for decades. We also love that they make everything in house -- from the ring itself to the setting. Their work is classic and still one of a kind. When it came time to look for our wedding bands a few months ago, there was no question in our mind - we'd come back to Tom and the Washington Diamond crew. We love our wedding bands, and cannot WAIT to wear them for the rest of our lives (starting in September!). I've gotten two cleanings of my engagement ring -- which are complimentary -- since last February, and it sparkles like new every time! I highly, highly recommend Washington Diamond -- so much so that I've already sent other friends of mine there to buy jewelry! We'll be customers for years to come, no question.

Tom Daube is a gem of a jeweler. After listening to our requirements, he suggested a simple design of a pear shaped stone in a custom-made bezel. He then brought in stones to compare with those he had available. After a lengthly discussion of our choices & costs, we made a selection, --, he gave us a price that beat the on-line "discount" merchants by a fair amount. The work was completed on time, and it is a lovely piece, indeed! Happiness all around. We are always extremely pleased to do business w/ Tom--- you must trust your supplier, and he has gained our complete confidence through the years. He offers solid, expert advice, never presses a sale, is extremely sensitive to individual customer needs, and in so doing, forms a long-term relationship. Highly recommended! Do ask for Tom, when you make your appointment! You will not be disappointed.

I've worked with Walter at Washington Diamond several times in the past 5 years. I first went to Washington Diamond to look for an engagement ring for my wife - she specifically wanted an emerald instead of a diamond. Walter ordered several gems for me to choose from and helped me pick/design the band. He had great knowledge of the stones and what would work best for the ring. It came out beautifully and my wife absolutely loves it. We decided to head back there for both our wedding bands. Again, Walter and everyone at W.D. were extremely knowledgeable and professional. For an anniversary gift, I had Walter make me a pair of earrings to match my wife's engagement ring - another hit. Just recently, Walter recreated my wife's wedding band as a mother's day gift.
I had visited all the mall and big box jewelry stores before finding Washington Diamond. The other stores cannot hold a candle to the quality jewelry at W.D. They are true craftsman.
They will also clean anything if you bring it back in.
I will definitely be returning to them whenever I am making a jewelry purchase.

25 years of marriage and a third great encounter with Washington Diamond!  Twenty-five years ago, we purchased  "THE" engagement ring.  Twenty years ago, we did an upgrade.  This year, to celebrate our 25th, we went back again.   Here is what we love about Washington Diamond (and why we're still going back after 25 years):

1.  Complete honesty.  You know exactly what you're getting. They know the diamond industry inside out and are full of interesting information -- if you're curious about anything, just ask.  

2.  Fair prices.  I've checked and checked.  You get great value for your money.  And they stick to their estimates...no nickel and dime increases. 

3.  Fun to work with and no judgment.  This time we worked with Tom (worked with Rob before).   It's a lot of fun to talk about what YOU want -- in terms of size, sparkle, shape and price.  They supply facts -- they make suggestions -- they let you look at as many stones as you want -- they get more stones if they don't have what you think you want -- they're patient -- they're entertaining -- they don't judge trade offs you might want to make (e.g. size vs. color, gold vs. platinum).

4.  NO pressure.  They don't try to upsell you. They don't try to rush you into a decision. They work really hard to make you happy within your budget and are very happy to spend time showing you all the alternatives (What if I spent another $1000?  What if I went down a little in color and clarity?  What if?  What if?)

5.  Beautiful results!  We've been completely delighted with each of our 3 encounters with Washington Diamond. 

Tom listened to my ideas and preferences and provided just the right amount of choices / options (not overwhelmingly many, and not too few). I was very impressed with the professionalism of Tom and all of his support staff.  They made what I thought would be a daunting and intimidating task much simpler, and made me at ease with my decision.  Ultimately, the finished product was just the perfect engagement ring that has been getting accolades from everyone who has seen it.  I highly recommend Washington Diamond to anyone that is planning this type of purchase.

The rings they have designed pleased my wife tremendously.  The designs were done right the first time, promptly, and the cost is an excellent value, if you value good advice, design assistance and quality work.

Denelle and all of Washington Diamonds staff are always wonderful. They have kept us coming back for over about 9 years. We used them before we had to PCS to Hawaii and were so thankful when we moved back to the Northern Virginia area so we could use Washington Diamond again. Denelle has this magical quality to always know what it is I'm looking for and is always respectful of our budget. Twice she has put together things we just had an idea for and she just knows what it is we are envisioning and makes it a reality. They really, truly want you to be happy. My husband had taken me to Washington Diamond to look at rings and I picked out a beautiful sapphire and diamond halo ring. After purchase I talked myself out of liking it and went back to Denelle and told her I liked another color of the Sapphire ring. Without hesitation they swapped it for me and on my way I went. Well, a few days later I knew I had made a mistake. Even though the new ring was beautiful I really wanted the first ring I had picked out. So back to Washington Diamond I went. They had no problem swapping yet again for the original ring.  Denelle was extremely patient and understanding. She wanted me to be happy with my ring. And to this day it is my favorite piece of jewelry. I love it. I love all the beautiful things we have purchased from them and love knowing they are quality investments.
