Overall, tremendous experience - I had a study, durable and classy shed within 7 days of getting the price quote. I highly recommend Steve, his son and their crew.

Details - After pricing small- to medium-sized pre-fab storage sheds at the big name stores, I requested bids from several companies on Angie's list.  Steve was the only one to provided a quick response to my email and then followed up with a phone call. Within three days of coming out for the estimate in mid-December, construction began. I was concerned because of the coming winter weather and because the building site was on a dramatic grade at the back of the yard, requiring the installation of concrete-set piers for level. There was no way I was going to do this myself.

The shed was up within a day, with painting, roofing and finish work culminating within a week. Steve was very clear on the estimate and sought concurrence before making any additions to the estimate -- in my case, augmenting the concrete pylons on the sloping terrain.

The price was hefty for a shed but it was worth it. Instead of a plastic box, I have a spacious storage and work space exactly where I wanted it, with a custom paint job, a window, a tall roof and sturdy floor for me to hide out from the wife. I will be using Steve for future building or for references to other service-providers. Thanks!

Terrific job.  We love our shed.  We priced multiple services and had two at-home estimates and town and country had the best quality for the price.  They will custom build whatever size shed you want, unlike the big box stores, and were competitively priced with the big box stores.  They were very professional - prompt, responsive and easy to work with.  The crew showed up on time and finished the work in one day and the shed looks fantastic.  We've now had it for a year and it is wonderful - it still looks brand new and is very functional.  We are moving and are sad to leave our shed, but we plan to use town and country again to build a new shed and the next house.

Based on the positive reviews here, I contacted Steve of T and C Sheds to see if he was interested in some ?handyman? type projects ? installing a new storm door and constructing a small deck (landing and some stairs) outside. He immediately responded to my e-mail and came over the next day. He was very friendly and personable and seemed very enthusiastic to do the work. He gave us a good price and we asked him to do the work for us. Because Steve insisted that the work would only take him half of a day to complete, we also discussed some other projects that he might do while here if there was time (put up a lattice type privacy fence around the a/c condenser). That?s when things started to fall apart. Steve said that he would e-mail a contract the next day. A week later there was no contract to be seen and no other contact from Steve. I e-mailed to ask about the contract and it was finally e-mailed to me another 2 days later. The e-mail also informed me that he had scheduled the projects for about a week away. I responded with a question about changing the project slightly (adding some stairs to another side of the landing), and about some additional work that we had verbally discussed, but that was not mentioned in the contract. No response from Steve. No follow up, no phone call, nothing. Finally called Steve on the day the project was supposed to begin and he curtly informed me that he would be arriving at 10:30. At 10:30 he arrived and requested that I explain to him how I had wanted to change the project. (Thereby indicating that he had received my e-mails, but just neglected to respond.) He was rude and abrasive and uninterested in hearing my ideas about the project. Eventually he agreed to add the steps, but (as I recall) informed me that the project would now cost ?half again as much? as the original quote. I felt that was fair and we agreed to proceed. At the end of the second day of work (recall Steve had originally estimated that this project would take half a day) we were informed that the price had actually more than doubled. When my husband questioned the increase Steve informed him that he had made a mistake and the first price was too low. When we asked to change the project he agreed, in part, because he could make up the money that he would have otherwise ?lost.? Then Steve pressured me into allowing him not to install the ?risers? of the stairs, and just leave the ?stringers? exposed. As he told me ? it was unnecessary and would just add cost to the project. What I could not see from my vantage point above the work was that in addition to the stringers there were numerous places where random bits of wood were nailed into the project for support. Thereby making the steps look ugly, unprofessional, and unfinished without the risers covering the inner ?guts? of the stairs. Shame on me for not looking at the project and making a more informed decision about the risers. Shame on Steve for even asking the question ? when looking at the completed project it is ludicrous not to have the risers ? and for asking in the midst of the project while I was chasing around a 2 year old and screaming 5 month old. So at the end of two days of work, Steve did not even bother to say goodbye or give us the bill, but just drove off, leaving his helper to collect the fee. And while we do have a new door and deck, it came at twice the original cost and it was an entirely unpleasant experience.

Excellent experience. Steve Smith responded quickly to my request for an estimate. He showed up on time and walked me thru all my options. Once I selected the size and style for the shed I wanted, Steve placed me on the calendar. The contract showed up a few days prior to the start of work. After some minor adjustments to the contract which were made quickly, the work began on the day promised. Steve told me that the work would take two days to complete. At the end of the second day, the work was completed as promised and the work site was cleaned up and restored. The quality of the shed is excellent, and although a little more expensive that a pre-built model from a home improvement store, having it built on-site had much less impact on my landscaping. Overall, a great experience.

Steve came to our yard and did an estimate for the complete job on Monday. After we signed the contract, they began the work on Tuesday morning and were finished on Friday afternoon. To keep the cost down, I agreed to do the final painting of the shed. It was a 10'X15' shed with two double hung windows and a 6' entrance and ramp for my riding mower. They also put wire mesh and lattice around the bottom to keep animals from living under the building.

Steve Smith was very responsive to my call and explained to me the details and cost of the project over the phone. He promptly emailed me the simple and concise contract and after I signed it he promptly scheduled the work for a week later. Steve and his son Noah arrived as promised and finished the project in 2 days. The work was done as requested and the shed looks very nice and is very functional. The drain in back of shed is keeping the rainwater from running into my neighbor's yard. We are very pleased with the job and highly recommend Steve and his son Noah.

Very smoothly. Steve visited our house to see the site and we discussed materials, colors, etc. He gave us his price, when he could start and how long it would take. He met his deadlines at the quoted price.
