Speedy Rooter Plumbing Co

The service provider and I had an agreement for services to be rendered and we have been given an invoice. The invoice is for the tree service and water main service. We gave the provider authorization to run our card for $1500 for services rendered IE tree service thus far. The provider contacted me shortly there after and said he would knock off $500 if we paid cash before the banks close today. We informed him that we are working and that we could drop off a check to the office either after work or tomorrow morning. The provider offered to send and assistant to come get a check. I told him that in DC traffic it would be after the banks close by the time they were to get to either of us and we wanted to see the work done first. He became irate and began demanding $1500 cash before he would finish the work. We are now under the assumption that the provider is at our property “doing services” and neither of us can get there. The whole experience seems strange. The tree service that was rendered was good and some of our neighbors approached him for work to be done. We are happy with service rendered but the current behavior of the provider is concerning.
