Sparkle Drain Cleaning

Very nice family owned business. Emergency job was handled next day. Tenants (work done at rental property) reported job was finished quickly (under an hour) and work area left clean. My only concern was escalation of price which doubled because a toilet had to be pulled. I thought that was a bit pricey, but would gladly hire this company again.

I had a clogged kitchen sink. Star Plumbing got back to me right away, but they were booked solid for the day and recommended Sparkle Drain Cleaning. The owner, Larry, and his assistant, Don, came at a time that worked for me. They got the drain snaked out. To top it off, our dog liked them. I highly recommend Sparkle Drain Cleaning at 703-534-9455.

Great experience with Sparkle Sewer & Drain. Larry is a little rough around the edges, but very friendly. They clear drains -- that's all they do, and they are good at it. After my husband and I had rented a snake from Home Depot and worked for an entire afternoon trying to clear our drain to no avail, my husband just wanted to call a plumber. I checked out Angie's List and Yelp and found Sparkle, which specialized in exactly what we needed. Called Larry up, worked out an appointment, and voila -- I can use my kitchen sink again! He was here for maybe 1/2 hour to 45 mins and the price was right ($285, which is lots less than a plumber).

They were super courteous, friendly, professional, competent, and quick. I felt like the price was a bit steep, but wow they really did respond quickly and perform the work perfectly. They also gave me tips for future maintenance. Completely satisfied and would recommend to anyone.

We have used Sparkle for over 15 years and (unfortunately) had to call them out again a couple weeks ago. Our house is older and we get a back up about every 3 years or so. We have been very happy with their service and their response time because no one likes having a mess in their basement.

They were prompt and courteous. They quickly went to work and explained to me everything they were doing. They got the job done in very little time, and I thought the cost was appropriate for the work. I was very pleased with their service and will call them again if there is another problem.

Work was fine. Bedside manner was OK. Price was extreme for the amount of work done. Feed a rod 100' for 30 minutes and it comes to $625? Wow.

These guys are just excellent. Just unblocked our drain for the 2nd time in about 12 years. Very professional and gave us good advice that kept our drain clear for over 10 years!

Perfect!  The plumbers showed up within an hour, were fantastic.

I called Sparkle on a Thursday afternoon, and within an hour, they were here taking care of the problem. It was tree roots blocking the flow of water, which they removed. All is running smoothly now! This is the second time I've used Sparkle and have recommended them to my neighbors who are equally pleased with their service and price point.

This company is a drain cleaning company only. Just what I needed. When my downstairs tub starts to back up with water and the downstairs toilet gurgles,I know I need the line snaked. Called Sparkle at 12:30. They arrived at 2pm same day! Larry, the owner, and Anthony (who did the actual snaking) took care of the problem in record time. Efficient, courteous and professional. Would give an A plus if I could.

Sparkle was prompt and courteous. They diagnosed the problem quickly .  Before proceeding with the work, they explained the problem and their plan of attack.  I authorized the work, and they went right to work.  They cleaned up all of the work area when they were finished.  My problem developed on the Friday before Thanksgiving, and they were able to squeeze me that morning.  I had called two other outfits and they said I would need to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday the next week. They saved my Thanksgiving week. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Highly recommend and will use again in future. Christmas weekend they arrived promptly and were polite and tidy. They fixed our clogged sink drain and were honest to let us know they couldn't snake completely through after trying 3 times. Our house has settling issues so that came as no surprise. He didn't charge full price and is willing to come back if needed again until our settling issues are resolved. Great local small business that I fully support!

They were very competent, polite, and professional.  They really know their stuff.  They even remembered doing previous work at the same house for a former owner.   I will happily use them again the next time my kids clog the drains beyond my drain unclogging capacity.

This is the second time I have used Sparkles Drain.  I used them about 3 or 4 years ago, and they were great both times.  They charge about half what a plumber does to clean a main drain line and they are fast and efficient.  I called them today when my mainline backed up and even though they were ever busy today they arrived in less than an hour and took care of my drain in around 30 minutes.

They came promptly at 9 am and were done within an hour. Problem solved. The price was competitive too. Very happy.

Service went well. Took two trips. First trip did not show blockage. Shortly after tech left drain showed blockage. Called and tech said he would let us know when he could return. No call back but tech did return around 11 AM. Tech said they snaked 90 ft.

I called early this morning to have my drain snaked, even though based on some of the latest reviews I was rather apprehensive. They arrived within an hour of the call and immediately got to work. They explained the problem to me, were considerate about the mess that was being made, and fixed the drain in less than an hour -- despite the fact that the problem didn't originate from my condo unit, but from a few stories down. They gave me a receipt explaining the problem so that I could present it to the management for reimbursement, as well. Speaking of, I was charged what I believe to be a fair price considering that one company I called was charging $170 just to come out. I'm not sure where the complaints about the rudeness come from. I'd say that the provider is pretty blunt, but he wasn't rude at all. In fact, he went out of his way to be helpful and even petted my dogs, who wouldn't leave him or his assistant alone.

Larry went to look at the water leak. He called and explained to me that he could not identify where the leak was coming from. He seemed concerned about not finding the source of this leak. I was on the phone with him when he checked on the hvac drain pipe and comfirmed that everything was fine with the hvac. He also comfirmed that the toilet was flushing fine. On the other hand, he indicated that the problem might come from the rainwater drainage when he went to look for any signs in the backyard. At the end of our conversation, Larry stated that he could not identify the problem even though he is the person who points people in the right direction in such circumstances. After Larry's visit, I spoke to our tenant who didn't find him helpful. I went to the house to look for the source of the leak. I found some areas of the floor in the basement covered with water. I asked whether or not Larry moped the floor when he inspected the problem. The answer was no from my tenant. It toolk me less than 5 minutes to identify the source of the leak once I moped the floor. A strain of water kept coming out from the back wall of the shower. I opened the wall and called a plumber who found a cracked pvc fitting. The leak coming from the crack made a distinct sound that could have been captured with an acoustic detector device. I don't mind for the $69 that I paid but I was very surprised to discover the source of leak so easily on my own without any technical expertise in water leak detection. This is why I decided to post this review. I am not convinced that Larry followed the required steps to identify the source of leak when he tried to diagnose the problem at my house.

They charged about half the going rate of a regular plumber and did a great job.  It was a pleasure doing business with them.

Larry is so trustful, reliable, and knowledgeable.

Called them at about 9:30 a.m. and Larry said he was on another job and asked if they could come in the afternoon.  He called back about 11:00 and asked if they could come ahead.  Arrived about 11:30 and when I explained the details Anthony went right up on the roof, checked the vent and then brought the snake up.  They started right away and cleared the drain all the way to the main stack.  They did it several times and then advised that they thought the drain under the basement floor was deteriorating and might need replacement sometime in the future.  These guys were prompt, professional and did a great job. I won't hesitate to use them again in the future.
