I had a great experience with Alex and his crew on both jobs.  Alex is a good guy who works very hard and scheduled my job for a Saturday to fit it in.  On the first job of replacing a supporting beam in the basement, they came in, built supporting walls to hold up the joists on either side of the beam, then cut out and installed a new header.  The workmanship was great and I was very relieved to have a structural job resolved.  When they were leaving, I asked Alex for an estimate to replace the old, splintering surface boards on my deck.  I had been thinking about trying this job myself (and dreading it), but Alex quoted a fair price.  He was able to schedule it within a week.  The workmanship was very good--everything was plumb and level, all boards were screwed down tight, and he tightened the connections on the existing framing.  They got the spacing on the balusters right (3 1/2"), so my kids can't get their heads stuck in them.

Bottom line, they came in, got the job done right for a reasonable price, and left me with great work product.
