RTEC arrived early and did a very professional and efficient job in removing it. I have used RETC before for other jobs over the years and I've always been very pleased. That continues this time. Ben, my arborist, and Luis, the job foreman couldn't have been more professional! The crew got the job done quickly, cleaned up my yard, my neighbor's yard, and closed my neighbor's gate. My neighbor was so impressed that she is having RTEC do some work in the near future on a silver maple in her yard.

Grossly expensive and sloppy work. I contacted Rtec to trim approximately 130 feet of hedge. Even though it was discussed during the site visit, 30 feet of hedge was left out of the proposal. So, I ended up paying $1,400 for trimming 100 feet of hedge. The job was sloppy and unattractive. I sent pictures showing the poor work and asked them to fix it. I got a very condescending response saying, in effect, that he was the arborist (and I was not), and that, in his expert opinion, no further action was necessary.

okay. Arrived promptly. Did trim trees and feed according to plan. Never saw an arborist after the initial consultation. RTEC provides a lot of information via e-newsletter. Couldn't see substantial improvement in tree health.

I might use RTEC again. They have areas where they can improve in their office. Arborist was prompt, professional and respectiful; the main office not. Instructions for writing a review initially were not clear and did not note Angie’s list as an option- assuming client had google account. Their online review option did not work. Samatha’s response to inquiry about how to resolve could have been more pleasant and geared better to retain repeat business.

Jim and RTEC are amazing. I've been up since 1:00 AM cleaning up debris and shattered glass but I had to stop and write a note on the professionalism of RTEC. I called at 3:30 AM to the RTEC emergency number and at 7:00 AM they were calling me they were on their way. The tree is removed. I cannot say enough kind words that RTEC exists.

Came when scheduled, did the work. A branch later fell off the tree, luckily onto our property, not the neighbor's. The RTEC arborist came and looked at the branch and said it wasn't their fault/problem, the tree had been trimmed properly, and there's no way they could have predicted or prevented this from happening. I've been happy with RTEC in the past, and believed him.

RTEC was able to do the work the same day as estimate. Big benefit as the tree was leaning against our roof and snow was predicted for next day. Ben provided the estimate and coordinated the work crew. All done in a timely and professional manner. Very happy with results.

All the work went very, very well. Ben just nailed it with the instructions to the crew on what I needed. The crew had to deal with power lines and tight spaces on a narrow street on the corner of a very busy 4- lane road, but came through it all without a hitch. This is the third time I have used RTEC and I received the same excellent service. The yard was in perfect condition when they finished - you couldn't even tell a crew had been there and the tree looks amazing. Job Well Done! Thank you.

RTEC Treecare is one of the most professional contractors I've ever dealt with. After requesting a quote, RTEC's arborist, Ben, came out for a consultation within two days. Two days after his visit, RTEC sent a detailed proposal that included a sketch of the yard and a break-down of the project into three separate tasks, totaling about $1,930. Under a tight budget and timeline, I carried out only one of the three tasks, for about $390. I was hosting a party a week later, and was concerned that the work would damage the grass or landscaping. Ben said, "Don't worry, you wouldn't know we've been there, except that your tree will be pruned." He was completely right. I came home from work, and the fir, almost magically, was suddenly beautiful and under control. There was no trace that work had recently been carried out. Now that I have more time, I'd like to carry out the other two tasks. My only criticism is that they seem expensive. It may be worth the price to receive such excellent service.

I am completely impressed by RTEC's professionalism and customer care. The primary job was the removal of a 28" Sycamore, next to a parking area, power lines and the street. They did this as scheduled for the agreed upon price, without any damage to property, nearby healthy trees or power lines. They coordinated with the power company and left the site in beautiful condition.
They also diagnosed and treated an early stage insect infestation for a large Hemlock that would have been lost if the infestation had been allowed to continue.
The arborist on our project is expert, committed to respectful and effective treatment of trees. He freely shared his expertise, the basis for his recommendations and our options.
He accurately diagnosed the problem with the Sycamore, which looked healthy to a layman. When it was taken down, it was crystal clear that the trunk had been devastated internally by disease. It could have fallen anytime -- particularly with DC-area thunderstorms.
I will use RTEC for any future tree work we need.

Everything went well. They did a great job and cleaned up well after themselves. The price seemed a bit high compared to others. Also, they charge for an estimate which is only refundable if you use their services. Otherwise you lose the estimate price. I used them in spite of cost because work needed to be done and I didn't have time to shop around. Since then, I have discovered that they are quite a bit more expensive than other services.

We were impressed and happy with our experience using RTEC Treecare. We had a half large dead Maple tree in our backyard that we were eager to get rid of including its stump and another stump in our front yard. The estimate was done by the certified arborist (Dan) who was professional and knowledgeable about the work needing to be done, how it would be done and other trees and bushes we had in the backyard.
The entire team is very responsive to both phone calls and emails.
On the day of the job - 2 crews were dispatched to make the job complete in 1 day. The crews were professional, punctual and polite and got right to work. They worked steady and the job took all day. They took care and cleaned up our backyard and the street afterwards.
Given the size of the tree - we knew it was a big job and we were very happy with the quality of the work done.
We will use RTEC services again in the future.

For that much money I expected much better service. 2 guys arrived and spent an entire hour eating their lunch under the tree in my front yard. Then they spent maybe 10 minutes trimming the tree. After that they left and moved their truck to the end of the street. I imagine they did not want to return to the office too early or it would appear they did not work long enough. Would not use them again. My tree was barely trimmed.

After a great experience with RTEC in August 2012, I contacted them in early February 2013 to come and prune back several trees that had become overgrown and needed pruning as well as having dead branches needing removal. One tree also needed and arbor tie installed to strengthen it to ensure it would not split if we had any more severe storms or derechos like the summer of 2012. Dan, the arborist I worked with in August 2012, was very prompt in showing up for the appointment to go over the work that would be performed. The crew came to do the work on the day that was promised and when I got home from work, I checked things out and they did a great job, doing everything that was promised. Once again I am very pleased with RTEC and will continue to recommend RTEC to my friends and neighbors.
