Home Inspection
We went with the inspector referred to us by our agent because we didn?t know any better. Our agent said that he was tough and reputable. We went with him because we were already worried about the house - it was old and we couldn?t find anything on the developers. He came to the house and he seemed to catch things, and we thought he was good until later when we had contractors and other inspectors come through to find things out. He had missed that the addition to our house had pulled away by 4 inches, even when he stuck his head up there and took pictures. He missed some serious concerns with the electrical issues - he didn?t see that there wasn?t a main cut off and he didn?t see that the whole system wasn?t grounded. He missed all the code violations as well. We learnt that code violations are non-negotiable, and that they have to fix them, but he never flagged any of them. He was a great guy and he tried to help us but those kinds of things are inexcusable. He came back twice and it cost us $325 per visit.
