Beware of Floor and Carpet Avenue, especially buying hardwood floors. First, this company misrepresented themselves by stating that they were licensed in DC when they were not. Secondly, they completely botched the installation of our Brazilian teak hardwood floors and stairs. After just a few months, the hardwood separated due to shrinkage and had ugly gaps. The floor boards have come up and the hardwood looks like it is 20 years old. We have been through the DC Department of Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The DC organization could not do anything because this company did not have a DC license and we did file a report with the BBB. We even hired a lawyer (spent several thousand dollars) but the owner of the company stated that if we tried to sue him, he would just fold his corporation and open a new one. We will have to completely replace these floors someday when we can afford it. We wouldn't wish this company on our worst enemy.
Description of Work: Floor and Carpet Avenue installed approximately $1,375 square feet of Brazilian Teak hardwood floor plus 45 steps.
