The swimming pool had become an unwelcome chore quite a few years earlier, and we had been given bad advice about how to dismantle it. We had ripped out the plastic liner, and fortunately there was sand underneath that. Then we'd been filling the pool with yard debris, including logs from fallen trees. It was quite the eyesore, as the concrete deck surrounding it still remained, and it was dangerous to walk on the yard debris inside the pool.
Ed was unfazed when he saw the situation, and knew exactly what to do. His calm demeanour and skillfulness with the excavator made quick work of our unsightly mess. And the grass seed he planted was appropriate and without weeds; it's hands down the nicest-looking part of our lawn! After the project was complete, Ed stayed a while longer to chat with us. He's very personable, sane, and intelligent. We recommend him highly.
We had several contractors out to bid on the project, and it soon became evident that it was too big for a general contractor. So we started looking at excavators. Ed's bid for the job was several hundred dollars under the closest competitor, probably because he does all the work himself using his own equipment.
Ed came out as scheduled, demolished the monstrous concrete pad, and hauled away all of the debris. To give you an idea of the scale, it took three trips with his full-sized dump truck to remove it all. In spite of the scope of the project, he managed to leave a relatively small footprint in the remainder of the yard, making just one track between the street and the removal site. That was a relief because we had a number of plants we didn't want to lose.
We'd highly recommend him to anyone looking to hire an excavator.
having a previous owner put up an above ground pool?.. our back yard was
dangerous to walk across! There were old roots popping up, sand all over, and
worst of all, rain was not draining from our property very well at all!
We had several ?landscaping? companies out and they told us this was out of their
scope of work. Ed came out and said he could take care of it. We felt the price
was reasonable so we set it up.
Watching Ed run that piece of equipment was just amazing. I was so impressed with the precision
of this job. Obviously we had to do some raking after he was done but, I really
don?t think he could have been more precise if that machine was part of his own
body!
After the first hard rain we had one large area that did not drain right away and we
called Ed back. He reminded us that our back yard still has no grass to slow
the run off of the water. He suggested we lightly rake the area and get seed on
it as soon as possible.
It?s so great to be able to walk across my own back yard and not have to watch every
step for fear of falling. We are very grateful to have had this work done and
would recommend Ed.
