We had an outstanding experience with Cameo. Everything from design (our designer Virginia is amazing), to logistics (managed by George, who oversaw the project and seamlessly managed all of the interactions with other contractors) to the actual work itself (done by the highly professional work team of Pedro, Mark, Sam) was done perfectly. The results were exactly what we wanted, was done on time, and on budget. Cameo is an A+ operation and a must hire for anyone who is contemplating kitchen renovation.

Wonderfully! From the very first phone call to set up a meeting Cameo Kitchens impressed us. They are a class act. Virginia Vipperman was our designer. She seamlessly balanced my input - what I wanted and needed with her extensive experience offering options and ideas that would meet our needs.. Without exception, Cameo delivered what they said they would deliver. They started the project on the day scheduled and they finished before the expected end date. The workmen were professional and they treated us and our home with respect. Wow! Our kitchen is gorgeous. I am very happy. I strongly recommend Cameo Kitchens.

Without a hitch. I simply love our new kitchen. The workmanship is of the highest quality. The design consultant and project manager were easy to work with and very accommodating. We couldn't be more pleased with our kitchen remodel. Two of our neighbors had recommended Cameo, after thorough vetting and great experiences. Our designer, Virginia, quickly picked up on the look and style we like and was able to guide us to making great choices of cabinets, counters, lighting, floor, and backsplash. We would never have had such a positive result without her help. We were home for the first four days of the project and were then out of town for the following four weeks. They hit the ground running, with five trucks here the second day. We met with the project crew and the electrician the first two days and Virginia made sure we had addressed all decisions before we left. A couple of minor questions came up while we were gone ; she sent us photos and we were easily able to weigh in via email. We returned home after a month away to a stunning kitchen. The crew did an outstanding craftsman-like job, clearly taking pride in their work. And they cleaned up so everything was pristine when we returned. We met with Virginia our first morning back and a crew member came out the following morning to make a few minor adjustments. So we got a beautiful kitchen, completed on time, and with seriously no hassle on our part. And they stand by their work. The neighbors who originally recommended them are still raving, noting that they take care of any little thing that comes up even well after the job is completed. We are immensely pleased with everything about Cameo!

I've waited 9 months to write this review because I was sure I would find something wrong with as big a job as taking a wall down and redoing my entire kitchen. But I haven't! Cameo Kitchens is great to work with and I have never worked with a designer as good as Virginia. She doesn't try to impose her style on you, as a lot of designers do. She's very positive and comes up with really good ideas that improve on your vision of what you want. I wanted to be able to entertain my large extended family and not feel cutoff from everything because I was in the kitchen. I also didn't necessarily want them underfoot while I'm cooking. This remodel has worked better than I ever imagined. And I actually ended up with more storage than I had with the wall up! Cameo is very disciplined and they work to a schedule, which I like. They said they'd be 6 weeks for construction (and that included a week for a floor company to come refinish the floors) and they were right on schedule. They were there every day from 7 am til 4 pm. I have heard horror stories of remodels getting partially done and then it dragging on for months. You will not have that issue with this company. I cannot imagine redoing this kitchen because I love it but I would definitely recommend them to anyone. And if you can get Virginia, she's a jewel.

Mike Macklin came up with a great initial design that we refined over the course of a couple of months, as we waited our turn to put our plan into action. He made picking out cabinet styles and counter materials a pain-free exercise. The very first day of construction, the crew arrived on time, and by the end of the day, the old kitchen was gone--and so were the walls. Every day the installation team arrived promptly and cleaned up everything before they left. Because all the work was done either by Cameo employees or subcontractors who work only with Cameo, we never lost time waiting for non-committed subcontractors who might or might not show up. In seven weeks, as promised, the work was done. We were happy to get the main floor of our house back--and we were thrilled with our light-filled, fully functional and gorgeous kitchen! Several of the doors were poorly painted, and we have missing trim pieces. We notified the company on April 14. Still no replacement doors or trim as of the date of this review (mid-July). Not what I expected from a "custom" cabinet shop. Cameo Kitchens contacted me to make things right. They have adjusted the doors and provided us the parts and pieces and stain that we need to make these cabinets look like they should.

They were so good at listening to our desires and working within our budget. If there is any complaint is that we didn't do all their suggestions. We have regretted the extra improvements we chose not to do.

Our neighbor recommended Cameo Kitchens to us without reservation. When it came time for us to remodel our kitchen, however, we left Cameo off the list of remodeling companies because we thought they would not take a job involving extensive construction issues. Thankfully, some twists and turns in the process ultimately led us to call them for an estimate. They could not take on all aspects of our project (e.g. new laundry room, wall removal, moving a powder room), but they suggested a contractor they had worked with extensively do the construction while Cameo handled the kitchen design and installation. Cameo worked beautifully with the contractor to create a gorgeous and much more functional kitchen. The quality and appearance of the cabinets are outstanding. The design is superb, allowing the entire family to use the space without being on top of one another. The carpenters who completed the installation took great pride in their work, and installed around our undulating ceiling and floor so the imperfections in the house were unnoticeable in the finished result. We are very glad we used Cameo - their process is very clear, methodical, and drama free and the results were beautiful.

Mike Macklin was a fantastic designer, and supported us throughout the extensive design process. Everyone at Cameo was great. They were on-time, committed to the project. Problems were addressed immediately and without hassle. They ended up having to go way above and beyond to satisfy Loudoun County's rigorous make-up air inspection. The lead carpenter on our project, James, was fantastic. This is the first major home improvement project I have done and they consistently met or exceeded my expectations throughout.

I interviewed a number of companies and found Cameo Kitchens the best of all the presentations. Mike Macklin was outstanding in the kitchen, small powder room and mudroom area design and overseeing the entire project from beginning to end. Mike worked within my budget and was extremely helpful with a few last minute modifications. He was always available to address any questions.This company remained active in the oversight of the electricians, plumbers, tile installation. Pedro, George and others with this company did a great job and were always available to keep me up to date on the project status. Cameo Kitchens is outstanding and my kitchen is beautiful. I highly recommend Cameo Kitchens.

I'm sorry to say that I'm writing this review more than 2 years after project completion.  However, I hope prospective customers will find some value in this review because I have lived with the kitchen for quite some time, while most customer reviews are so fresh, that their reviews are probably mostly based on the cosmetic results and with their remodeling experience, rather than actually living with the functionality of the finished product.  I designed my own kitchen, but Mike did the drawings, added special features, and walked me through the process.  Though Mike was my project designer and project lead, I ended up working more with George, simply because I felt more comfortable with him.  I found Mike to be a little defensive and impatient with my questions and concerns, but this could simply be that some personalties don't gel as well as others, and I'm not always the easiest person to work with.  George was very patient and accommodating, and bent over backwards to ensure I was satisfied at throughout the process. 
I expect honesty, professionalism, efficiency, organization, punctuality, neatness, and good craftsmanship, and I got all of these things with Cameo Kitchens.  The team of workers arrived on time daily, were very accommodating, performed quality craftsmanship, took pride in their work, and cleaned up at the end of each day.  After 2 years, I have not experienced any plumbing or electrical issues, and I feel confident since Alberto is a master plumber, that the work is of a high standard.  Melvin, of GLB Granite, was very patient with me when I made a 2nd trip to verify how I wanted the granite to be cut.  This project could have been delayed because the the tile supplier did not have the floor tile I selected in stock, and I had to make a last minute change.  Ultimately, the project was completed on time, due to the project managment and scheduling skills of Cameo Kitchens.
The kitchen design feels so natural, as if it was like that all along, and it looks really good.  An important point I'd like to make is that Cameo Kitchens pulls the permits so that the consumer is protected, and I feel more confident that things have been done not only to code, but according to the law.  What prompted me to finally write this review is because I am now in need of remodeling my bathrooms, and I only wished that I could hire Cameo to do these for me, but sadly, they do not do bathrooms.  Thank you, Cameo Kitchens.

We spent roughly two years getting several estimates for our kitchen remodel. It was a tough decision! Time and time again, when speaking to the managers and staff from the appliance stores, flooring companies and countertop suppliers they raved about Cameo stating they are ?flawless? ?the best? and ? have outstanding customer service???. this is what finalized our
decision. We knew we?d be spending a lot of money on this project (no matter who we hired) and Cameo stood out with their referrals and their professionalism during the estimate.  Now that our kitchen is completed, I can?t tell you how happy I am that we chose Cameo! We love our kitchen and enjoy it every day. Tammy, our designer from Cameo, was very helpful, professional and patient during the planning process. Cameo?s workers arrived on time every morning, genuinely seemed happy to be working on
our kitchen and each employee really seemed to care that we were satisfied with every aspect of the project. Their attention to detail was impressive and it?s clear that they have a meticulous plan in place to get the job done right the first time and ON time. We had white inset style cabinets installed and they are beautiful. We are very happy with the quality of the cabinets from Honeybrook. We also had a make up air damper installed (per code) for our commercial range and hood. A few of the other companies didn?t seem to understand how to install the make up air damper per code but Cameo said ?no problem? and took care of it without a glitch.  We had the cabinets brought up to the ceiling, interior and under cabinet lights installed and new commercial
appliances installed.  They were very careful to protect our floors (even though we were having them refinished) and they did a great job controlling the dirt and dust with plastic partitions around the kitchen. After the work was completed there were a few minor things that needed attention and they were very responsive and came right out to fix things. If you?re considering Cameo for your kitchen remodel I give them my highest recommendation!!

Work was started on-time and completed on-time.  Workers were very professional and superb craftsmen.  Kitchen is beautiful.

We did not know exactly what we wanted.  We needed design help as well as a contractor.  We worked with Mike Macklin who both worked with us on the design and served as project manager.  We liked being able to work with Mike from start to finish and even beyond and not having to be turned over to a new person with whom we did not already have good rapport.
We benefited from Mike's expertise on so many little details that we would never have thought to consider on our own.  Some of the smallest items turned out to be quite important.  I can imagine most contractors who don't really have true design expertise would likely miss these items.  Mike was excellent with walking patterns, spacing, etc.  He discovered that the way we use our kitchen is that my wife cooks and at the same time I am cleaning up.  So Mike made sure to establish two separate work zones so that my wife and I would not run into each other while in the kitchen at the same time.  Brilliant!
The quality of the Honey Brook cabinetry is unbelievable, and even better than we expected.  We exhausted ourselves looking at and researching various cabinets.  I got pretty good at understanding what makes a quality cabinet and what corners sometimes are cut thus reducing quality.  The dimensions are so exact, everything fits perfectly.  I honestly don't know how they were able to be that precise.
The construction phase also went extremely well.  We were attracted to the fact that once they begin the project they don't stop until it is done.  Other companies give you a finish date, but rarely make it.  They come some days, but not all, show up when they want, leave when they want, etc.  Cameo does not work like that at all.  They actually finished earlier than they said which made my wife so happy as of course no one wants to be without their kitchen any longer than necessary.  
We were constantly kept abreast of what they just completed, what they would be doing next, etc.  We were always invited to inspect each phase to be sure we were happy.  A lot of times I would be home but my wife would be working.  The Cameo work crew would often tell me to be sure and have my wife look at the project when she got home and to let them know the following morning if she had any concerns.  All of the crew were polite, professional, helpful, and definitely took pride in their work.  They were ready to start each and every day at 7:30 sharp.  They cleaned up every day and not once did I have to ask them to do so.
I am sure there are contractors out there who would perform this work at a lesser cost, but I can't image them doing so without taking a lot of extra time, not providing equivalent quality, and being able to provide the peace of mind in that you just knew everything was going to done and done well.  Not one penny do we regret spending with Cameo and we would do it again without blinking.

We contacted Cameo Kitchens for an estimate on a semi-custom kitchen remodel which included knocking down the wall between the kitchen and family room and building an island as well as replacing all the cabinets, flooring and appliances.  The quote we received was on par with the estimate from the company that had remodeled our bathrooms.  However, it was Cameo?s business model that was the deciding factor.  First, you have one point of contact from the initial meeting through completion of the punchlist items.  Mike Macklin was with us every step of the way!  And second, Cameo has a closed contract.  Once it?s signed, there are no additional costs unless you make changes.
If you?re looking for the lowest cost, it won?t be Cameo. However, with kitchen remodeling, the old adage is true; you get what you pay for.  The quality of work was excellent and everyone at Cameo is extremely responsive.  We love our new kitchen!

We interviewed 3 kitchen remodel companies. Cameo provided us with design drawings before we were required to make a deposit. The designer, Virginia, was young yet competent, professional, reliable, approachable, responsive, friendly, etc. All before any money spent or contract was signed.

Started as planned on Feb 18, finished 5 weeks later as planned.  Workers showed up promptly every day, cleaned up well at night, spoke English.  Cannot speak highly enough of Cameo or Mike who was our designer.  Wished they did bathrooms and other work.
