Every single thing he or his men did, WAAAAAAAAAAY exceeded our hopes! Steve is exceptionally imaginative, creative and meticulous, and his men and subs are superlative. To make it even better he is completely honest and honorable, very concerned that his work be perfect - I would enthusiastically recommend him for any job. Anyone would be SO fortunate to have him do their work!

We had a very bad experience with this contractor.

We didn't even realize our 15 year old roof sustained major wind damage during the derecho and Hurricane Sandy; all we knew is that we were realizing we had water leaks into our home. We spoke with a few roofers for estimates, and they all said we needed to contact our insurance company, which we did. They acknowledged there were significant areas of damage and told us to do what needed to be done and they would pay around $7500. We hired Brooks Construction to do the work. They arrived with a substantial crew and immediately began to remove the existing roof, discarding into a pile on our front lawn.
Because it was promptly removed and disposed of in a truck they brought, our lawn was not impacted. We had plank board construction under our old shingles, basically 1’ x 6’ boards with small spaces between them. Pretty typical in the 1935 era. He removed our shingles and overlaid our whole roof with ½” fir plywood, which doesn't warp when it gets wet like other plywood. This cost a little more but there won’t be anything trying to curl up. Then he used ice and water shield in all the valleys and around all of the perimeter. He then put large metal drip edge around the perimeter. All of this was prior to putting down the first piece of tar paper or shingle.
The job took 3-4 days to complete -- it included re-roofing a detached garage, too -- and it looks beautiful! They walked our 12x12 pitched roof to inspect every element of the installation, and they surveyed the property to remove nails and debris. All in all, we could not have been happier. We will never need to have this job done again! I cannot recommend this company strongly enough. Did we get our money's worth from a highly professional business? You bet we did!
