It was a series of three visits. He had three different set of bacteria in his ear. The first trip got rid of the first two bacteria. The third bacteria would not get out of his ear. He is a Labrador, and they are prone to ear infections anyway. Our seem more prone than normal. That came with medications each time. They are awfully nice people. You have to be to work with animals. They are nice, they care about the dog. They are very upfront about the services they offer and what they cost. You can choose to do one or the other, or all of them, or none of them. They are good about informing you about what is going on.They are unpredictable. The are often late, but its understandable why they are late.

their very good. Our cat is a nervous cat. They were gentle with her. She was trying to creep away. They kept pulling her back. They knew how to subdue her, with giving her shots, so she would not get hurt. I should see hold her, not subdue.

I wasn?t happy with them. They are awful. I hate them. I am not going back there anymore.
It got to the point where I wouldn?t even see the vet. It was just take your dog to the front door, they would take your dog, then tell you to come back in two hours. I think they got annoyed with me. I was red flagged as one of those pet owners. I asked why am I suppose to have these tests when I?m not there. My dogs are older and I refused to get some of the shots. They only needed the rabies shots. I am well informed about veterinary care and I am not going to put all of these pharmaceuticals in my older dogs. They are 15 years old and do not go outside my yard. I wasn?t going to pay extra for other shots they didn?t need.
They would take my dogs, do all of these other things, then charge me for things that I didn?t okay to be done. I didn?t approve and sign off on things on the bill. For example, they would charge me $33 for an anal expression when I didn?t ask for it. I think other people just pay it and leave.
It is inside Petsmart, so there is seven people with their dogs out in an open area that are waiting. There are pit bulls, and all other kinds of dogs, and these people who are not in control of their pets in an open area. I don?t want some dog lunging at my dog. I have one dog that is a little aggressive and we know that I can?t bring her in and sit quietly by my side with other dogs around.

We have been considering canceling our wellness plan for our dog and cat for some time now ($57 per month, $684 annual) because it seemed like everytime we went in for a checkup, Banfield would recommend another $100+ service. Also we never liked their process of boarding our pets all day for a wellness checkup. Our last visit was the final straw that led us to cancel our wellness plans. About a week after our dog's last checkup she started coughing constantly. We tried to make an appointment with Banfield yesterday to get her checked out, but Banfield said we would be charged a $75 and quot;emergency feeand quot; to be seen before 3:30 pm. Meanwhile our dog is coughing every minute or so and is miserable. Instead we took her to Columbia Pike Pet Hospital, which was much more professional. The diagnoses was kennel cough, which had to be contracted from her last visit to Banfield since that was her only interaction with other dogs in the last couple of weeks. I contacted Banfield's manager to let them know, and wanted them to help pay for some of the cost. I also told her that I wanted to cancel our wellness plan. She directed me to their corporate office. They canceled our plans, but after charging me an additional $144 since she said we have used over $600-worth of services for our dog this year (meanwhile, it was only 2 wellness checkups).
I would never use them again. Their wellness plan does not save you any money compared to other nearby vets (despite what your bill might say). They seem more interested in seeing as many pets as possible than the actual health of your pets. I am mad at myself for not canceling sooner.

I had to wait about half an hour. For routine checkups i drop him off and pick him up when he's ready, so waiting was new to me. I first saw the vet tech who examined him and advised weight loss (something I am well aware of and trying to help). The new vet, whom I'd never met, came soon, examined him carefully and discovered several lengthy nails needing trimming as well as full anal sacs. She prescribed antibiotic, pain pills, and ointment. She also discussed his weight and suggested several ways to cut back his regular food intake. He isn't fed snacks or people food except for an occasional strawberry or scrambled egg. My visit was pleasant and productive and he is doing well with his sore paw and his weight loss.
I have used many vet services in the Falls Church, Arlington areas and have used this Banfield exclusively with three dogs for about ten years. I am especially fond of Dr. Castro and Dr. Withers who just moved to CA. Dr. Castro is a real pro and I would go to him for something more serious. He comforted me through the euthanizing of my first dog several years ago. The support staff have always been helpful. Since I have insurance, my cost is reduced and well worth the monthly expense for all my needs. My daughters both have dogs and take their dogs to this location also.

The Banfield pet hospital is located inside of Petsmart. The insurance only covers vet care through Banfield. The insurance covers the yearly check up, a number of their shots, and subsidizes any other medical care they need. It has made things easy for routine visits. It's nice because if there is something that is of concern, you can take them in. The vets there are very good as well. The quality of care is good. The vet we use, we used prior to them, and we were happy that he was there as well. I would like to see them have a better price, per dog, instead of just a blanket price.

The doctor was great but the venue(pet store) wasn't comfortable, nor did they have a lot of sophisticated equipment there in case more complex treatment was needed.

They do a okay job. They can improve on their time management. They are always late when you have a appointment. The staff is not that friendly.
