All went very well! Their customer service was fabulous, and they have very good advice as far as style, fabric and other choices a customer needs to make. Very good prices for the quality of the pieces, and pricing is very transparent -- no surprises. Would absolutely recommend going to them for all your home furniture, accessories and carpet needs.

We looked for comfortable chairs for the “living room” section of our kitchen for years and couldn’t find any chairs that were long
enough in the seat for our legs, good looking, and comfortable. We gave up until we found the Francisco Metro swivel chair at Willem Smith Furnitureworks. Not only is it beautiful but it also has been carefully designed to combine that beauty with the science and engineering of sitting so that the chair is most importantly comfortable. It’s a great chair to sit in after a long day at the office or for a few hours watching the World Cup. John Smith and John Behrens are so knowledgeable and easy to work with that it is a pleasure to deal with them. They design their furniture and oversee the manufacturing process. We were so happy with the chairs that we ordered a new couch. They let us participate in designing it so there are three cushions instead of two and it is
so much more comfortable and better looking than our previous couch. Willem Smith Furnitureworks is a special enterprise – so much better than the impersonal furniture stores around today.

Found them from an offer on Facebook. They contacted me my email after initial inquiry and had me select the style of chair and accessories I wanted. They looked into an ecologically harvested elephant hide I liked and gave me a price for this option. That was a bit more than I wanted to spend, so I opted for one of the leather samples that they sent me through Fedex (with a return pouch so it was easy to send back). When the chair was completed, they arranged delivery and install by a third party. The third party messed up and did not confirm when I would be home, but the Willem Smith people straightened things out and the chair is now my favorite spot to sit in the living room. It is extremely comfortable especially with the matching leather lumbar support whether I am sitting upright, slouched or sideways with one leg over the arm. It has been in use now for 5 months and still looks great--the leather is gorgeously soft and already feels nicely worked in. I would highly recommend Willem Smith to individuals and professional interior designers (in fact I already have).

We have purchased furniture from Willem Smith several times over the years, starting back in 2006 with a leather chair and ottoman. At that time, the company was located in the Design Center in downtown Washington, DC. They have now relocated to Merrifield, VA, a much more customer friendly location in terms of space, access and parking. Last year we enclosed a porch and created a new family room and we needed some pieces to furnish the room. We were so pleased with the chair and ottoman we purchased from Willem Smith years before, that we decided to visit John and his company again. We wanted to purchase another leather chair to match the first chair we bought from them and we also needed a small sofa. Although the leather from the original chair had been discontinued, John was able to locate a piece large enough from his manufacturer to make the second chair. He could have said it was discontinued and that would have been the end of it. But, he got on the phone and tracked down a remnant of the original leather. We were so happy and now have two matching chairs. The ordering process went smoothly. We communicated easily via phone and email and once the decisions were made, they submitted the order without delay. Any questions we had during the process were immediately addressed. John Smith and JR were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. With John, you get the feeling that it's designing a great piece of furniture and not the sale that is meaningful to him. We've had the second chair and sofa for a year now and they are very comfortable and wearing beautifully. We will return to Willem Smith with any future furniture needs we have and will confidently recommend the company to our friends and family as well.

John at Willem Smith provided excellent customer service. We'd sat in the chairs at an architectural show in NYC and remembered how incredibly comfortable they are, with excellent support. We had a lot of questions prior to purchase, and John answered them all. He arranged delivery to NYC, which was very prompt and efficient. We especially appreciated there was no "hard sell," I suppose because The quality products speak for themselves. We were very well treated at Willem Smith, so highly recommend them.
