Really hate to write this review on Western as they have been purchased by Orkin. Western Pest was AMAZING and I never needed to call them back due to pests appearing between treatments. But now that Orkin is in charge, I have spiders, and they scheduled a service appointment and did not show. Will be looking for a new provider.

They only came once I didn't sign up for a contract, it was a one time visit and they were able o get rid of it so I was good with that.

Last year's inspection went just fine as usual. Normally I'd get a reminder card that the inspection was due and I'd call to arrange the inspection. No card this year. I finally called Western today to see what was going on. I was told that Western had been bought out by Orkin and that Western did only commercial properties. The lady who took my call gave me the number of the Orkin franchise (or maybe company run establishment) that would now be handling my account. When I called the number in Annandale I spoke with a gentleman who said that yes, in fact Western had merged with Western and Orkin would now be handling my account. I said I was unhappy that I had not been informed of the change. I was told that Western had sent out announcements to all of its residential customers informing them of the change. I said that neither my wife nor I ever got such a notice. I was told that it had been Western's responsibility upon the "marriage" of the two companies. I mentioned that I was at least a month overdue for my inspection. I was told that Orkin had called me and left voice mail messages (plural) and I'd never called back. The only voicemail we ever got was one today. The caller identified himself as calling from Orkin and left me a cell phone number to call. Given the numerous unsolicited and phising calls I decided to call the Western number which I've previously used. This led me to the long diatribe above. Orkin said they could send a tech out as soon as I wanted. I've scheduled for next week and told the rep I'd see how it goes and could then decide whether I'd stay with Orkin or find another company.
Bottom line - Western no long does residential properties - Western and Orkin pointed their fingers at one another as to why I never go a reminder notice that I was due for my annual inspection.
I'll see how it goes next week.

Performed a pest inspection associated with a house sale. Another inspector hired by the buyer claimed termite infestation. Western sent two different inspectors out, thoroughly checked the property, and found no problem. Their report cleared up the issue for the buyer. Higher professional organization, would hire them again without question.

He suggested that the noise was coming from the adjacent unit's attic - entirely possible. He double checked and didn't even charge me for the visit! I would definitely call them again - professional and thorough.

Set numerous traps in basement, attic, and kitchen in lazy Susan area. Sprayed nontoxic to birds, pollinators, pets retardant chemical around perimeter on house and out building and sprinkled granular mix further out from the home ... Again nontoxic retardant. Checked for any possible exterior points of entry and filled holes with copper mesh. Also sprayed around areas where silverfish had been seen. Got immediate results from this. Meekly visits until they see no sign of pest ... 3 visits and still waiting for that. Decided cheaper to go with yearly contract instead of 1-month treatment.

It is a good value for the price. They were very responsive, and they took care of my ant and spider issue. I had more ant issues this year, and they serviced it from outside, the ant issue persisted for some time but they finally fixed the problem.

What I thought were burnt pieces of food on my stove to turned out to be mice droppings. I immediately went online with Angie List to find a reputable pest control company. The process was quick. I selected Western Pest Control based on the review as well as their wide service areas. Gave them a call , set up an appointment for service. The service date came without much ado. They were prompt, quickly assessed the problem, explained in more detail then I needed about mice and their habits. Next, the technician went about setting traps in strategic locations like under the sink, near the furnace or where mice might enter the house. He then checked any possible exterior entries such as where the electrical box , outdoor faucets, and any Incredibly small crevass they might use to enter th house. Finally, he set up an appointment to Return the following week to check the traps. Again , he was prompt. Set up more traps to ensure that all mice were accounted.

The initial treatment got rid of the ants promptly. With follow-up treatments through the service contract I purchased, I have had prompt, courteous service, always getting a call before the technician comes out, although I don't have to be home as they treat outside. I can request indoor treatment if needed. With this service, it was the first fall in 20 years in my home that I did not get crickets inside. I'm very pleased.

They are great! They come as scheduled and do the work as asked. They will also come any additional times that I request them to. I’ve been their client for 36 years.
