He sub-contracted another individual who showed up on Friday the 10th of Aug, took the toilet out and popped up a bunch of tile, then left after a couple hours and said he'd come back on Sat.  He never showed back up and it took nearly 3 weeks to get Bob to get back to the house and finish the work.  Since he has "finished" he has been completely unresponsive to correcting issues he left behind.  The toilet wax ring was installed incorrectly and is causing a leak, and the grout he laid in the kitchen he did not seal so it's causing a constant mess.  I have contacted him several times, he says he will call and flat out doesn't.  He also only tiled the floor in the bathroom and didn't do the tub enclosure which was in the estimate and included in the price.  I paid over $2000 and he says he lost money because of the initial sub contractor who he apparently paid up front.  He clearly is not interested in completing the work to satisfaction and could care less that I now have to pay someone else for what I have already paid him to do.

Response from SMALL JOB BOB
"The person working at the members house was not a sub-contractor.I was out of town on vacation and as soon as I heard there was a problem I contacted the mrs. and told her when I get back I will investigate the situation and complete the job.I did apologize repeatedly to her.The tile floor was mostly completed .We started back on the job one week after i got back in town not 3 weeks later , the project did take a couple of weeks to complete because the renter had to work and wanted to be present when we were in the home,we did not want to inconvenience them anymore than was necessary so we worked around her schedule. Also the job never included the replacement of the wall tiles or any sealing of grout ,as I told her that I do not believe in these products for grout sealing and I think it is a waste of money. If the wall tiles were included and it was not completed why on the final walk through when the job was completed ,everything was approved for payment by the tenant.I did candidly tell the member that I lost my shirt on her job but no matter what I will stay and complete the job 100%, which we did.As far as final payment ,i submitted the invoice and was told by her that because she took $200.00 off of the rent for the tenants she would expect me to reduce my bill by this amount, I did do as she asked to go the extra mile for her.I received one phone call from the mrs. possibly in early october in reference to a little bit of water in a corner of the said bathroom and that it is not leaking through and staining the ceiling and it could quite possibly be the kids while taking a shower not pulling the shower curtain closed all the way.,but when you get a chance can you call and stop by to investigate the source,at that moment I was driving and talking to her and did not write it down and did forget to do so for that I apologize,I never received one phone call or did I get a message from him. This was a result of a bad employee who is gone now,not a company which does not care for its clients."

I felt that the price of $600 was expensive, but other estimates I received were about the same.  Bob took $50 off his price to be competetive.  The only issue I had was that he did not come out to my house to assess the project when he said he would, and did not let me know why until I contacted him wondering why I had not seen an estimate yet.  When I contacted him, he explained that weather conditions delayed other jobs so he had to push every appointment back.  I understand that, but I would have liked to be kept informed.  Overall, I am satisfied with the quality of the work, and I likely will call Small Job Bob again.

C. J. showed up on right on time and got right to work on the ceiling fan. It was too complicated for me to hang (plus I had lost the instructions), but he took care of it very handily and then he got to work repairing my outdoor light bracket and hanging the new light. He finished the job faster than the original estimate called for and to my satisfaction. I will happily use them again when I need some handyman services.

The last coat of mud has not been put on, the window has not been installed and I can?t get Bob to call me back. I have left numerous messages. I would at least like a call back and I want this work finished. Any explanation at all regarding the delay would have been fine. I would not hire them again.

Bob showed up right on time and started working on my jigsaw puzzle curio cabinet. Miraculously, the thing started taking shape. He showed me where the directions were not precisely in accordance with the component parts, etc. I would never have been able to put it together. It was painfully complicated. Bob took care of getting a replacement piece of glass that was needed, finished the construction promptly, and the cabinet looks absolutely lovely. Bob was very professional and extremely friendly.

I met Bob through a friend of mine and needed to find a person that could take care of an investment property that had some issues. Bob gave us a rough estimate, was on time, charged within the estimated cost and performed the job flawlessly. Small Job Bob is a great resource for a project and his experience in home repair made for a quality finished job!
