Rafael's Renovations

Rafael and his team redefine "Perfection." He is literally not satisfied with the work before a) you're 100 percent satisfied and b) more important, HE is satisfied with the work! As one small example, one of the tiles in the newly redone shower had a miniscule chip our of it, which was barely noticeable and could have been filled in with grout or other. But when Rafael saw it, he was adamant: "No, it has to be replaced. It's unacceptable like that." This was his mantra thoughout the job and is reflected in the gorgeous outcome. Our old Master Bathroom was thoroughly dated, with builder-grade cabinets, inadequate lighting, drab tile work, and much wasted space because of a large jacuzzi tub that no longer worked. Also, the shower and commode were separated by a funky wall and peek-through window that made no sense. We sketched out a rough draft of what we wanted to do but Rafael is the one who put flesh on the bones and really conceptualized the best configuration for the new bathroom. Much of the work was essentially "down to the studs," with new wiring, plumbing, drywalling, and an "unexpected" sub-flooring replacement job (the old shower had been leaking, evidently for years, and the flooring had completely rotted out in one section). Rafael and his team took it all in stride, rerouting pipes and vents, removing walls, replumbing, and rewiring. He also installed (and wired up) a wonderful new floor heating system which will be heavenly for those cold winter mornings. The end result is far beyond our wildest expectations! It's an absolutely beautiful dream bathroom which we've dubbed our "Taj Mahal!" We could not be more pleased! And we must add that Rafael and his team were religious in ensuring that every surface was protected from dust or dirt, with plastic covering on the floors/pathways, plastic sheeting over furniture, and plastic curtains walling off the work area from the rest of the house. The were absolutely meticulous and left everything spotless. We have nothing but Kudos and Rave Reviews for Rafael and his hard-working, talented team of remodeling specialists. Rafael ensures that every aspect of the work is inspected and reinspected before he proceeds to the next step (this is especially true for plumbing and wiring). The finishing work is done with great attention to detail, with several coats of primer and multiple finish paint coats which will last for decades. Rafael made my new "old" home into a dream home that made it feel like home as soon as I put my things inside. I can't say enough good things - Rafael will do the job, the WHOLE job, and then some and THEN he will make sure that everything is done down to the last detail. He doesn't rest until he feels good about how he's leaving the job. He did a stunning job on all three bathrooms - bathrooms are really "his thing." His pride in his work really shows. Example - I turned a bedroom into a small bedroom with a walk in closet - he made sure that the old light fixture was centered in the new room. It's things like that that separate Rafael from the rest. He is also an expert plumber - he made sure when everything was "opened up" that all of the piping was in good connection and working properly. He guarantees his work and every person on his team is a total professional and lovely to work with. Rafael is a wonderful person - if you hire him, be good to him and his team.

Rafael's work was so extraordinary. When the job was completed, nobody could even detect that there was a ceiling leak. We are definitely going to employ him again for other projects. We are senior citizens.
