DO NOT GO HERE! I thought very long and hard before posting this review. After months of contemplation with continued incompetence from Pender Vet, I just can't live with myself if my story isn't shared and this terrible company is allowed to do this to someone else. I was a loyal customer of over 3 years. I have a dog with all kinds of issues, allergies, digestive problems, cancer, you name it, he has it! We are at the vet every other month on average. It all started once anything serious came up. My dog went into septic shock over a weekend so we brought him to Pender for emergency care. $3000 later, they had not helped my dog in any way. After 3 days in their care, I had another vet look at his records and they told me I needed to remove my dog from Pender's care immediately and take him to a real vet. I didn't really understand what they meant until they told me they were amazed my dog was still alive after Pender only gave him fluids and metronidazole for 3 days. They didn't even do any testing to see why he is in septic shock. I forcibly removed my dog from their care and they lost his leash when I tried to leave. My dog is an 85 pound pit bull and trying to have him exit a fully packed room of animals and people was a disaster. I was heartbroken over my dogs situation and I got him an internist that has taken over his care since. This has helped immensely since Pender has no idea what they are doing. Issue is, the internist won't do vaccines so I'm stuck returning to Pender Vet. It gets SO MUCH WORSE FROM HERE. I make an appointment to get vaccines, additional allergy care medications, some of his new lumps checked out, etc. I make the appointment a month ahead of time. I call, email, everything I can think of to try to get an estimate for the cost. NOTHING. NO RESPONSE. NO HELP WHEN I CALL. NOTHING. I'm like ok whatever, I'll just figure it out after its done. Nope.. we get to the appointment and they don't have any idea why he is there. After my weeks of calling and emailing and FINALLY forcing someone to get me an idea of the cost, we show up to the appointment and they have no idea why we are there. NO IDEA WHAT SERVICES HE NEEDS AFTER I LISTED IT TO THEM PROBABLY 25 TIMES. NOT ONE PERSON CARED ENOUGH TO NOTE WHAT HE NEEDED AN APPOINTMENT FOR. There was no record of all my calls and emails. No record of all the things he needs done on the visit. Nothing. I'm already there so I bite the bullet and tell them AGAIN why we are there. They come out to car, grab my dog and tell me to wait. Five minutes goes by and they bring him back to me. Sweet, done fast at least, right? NOPE - THEY ACTUALLY BROUGHT THE DOG BACK TO MY CAR TO TELL ME THEY HAD ONCE AGAIN THE WRONG DOG AND TO WAIT. I was done with them right there. Pender Vet doesn't have any idea of what they are doing to your dog or even if they have the right dog for the right services. This is TERRIFYING To make matters worse, they continued to bill me for my dogs prescription food but just wouldn't send the dog food since I'm not a customer anymore. How I am not a customer anymore if you are still taking my money? AND LASTLY, WHY ON TOP OF ALL THE ABOVE THAT THIS PLACE DESERVES TO BE OUT OF BUSINESS - THEY NOW SAY I DON'T EXIST. NEVER WAS A PATIENT THERE AND LOST ALL OF MY VACCINE RECORDS. THIS HAS BECOME A HUGE PROBLEM, NOT ONLY FOR MY NEW VET, MY DOGS CARE BUT NOW WITH THE COUNTY BECAUSE PENDER VET CAN'T KEEP ANY KIND OF RECORDS. I HAVE 100S OF PAGES OF MEDICAL RECORDS FROM PENDER VET BUT SOMEHOW THERE IS NO RECORD ON YOUR END? NOT EVEN OF MY DOGS RABIES VACCINES? GET OUTTA HERE.. DO NOT TAKE ANY ANIMAL YOU LOVE HERE

Great, all the staff were very sweet with our shy puppy. She got lots of loving and tender care. The puppy kindergarten classes just started, but even in the first class we learned a lot.

I have insurance for my birds. It's $75 an office visit then whatever else they have to do. It is expensive. They charge as much as a human being. The price is high. When I had one bird die, they wanted $100 more than where I took him. They treat them very well. I dealt with the doctor mostly this time but usually the vet techs are very nice. I've been using them for about 15 years. My first experience with them was an emergency situation and they saved his live.

The waiting room was full of barking dogs when we arrived, which freaked out my cat. Even though they have 2 areas to separate the species, everyone has to sign in right in front of the cat area. Someone's dog defecated in the entryway (owner totally oblivious), and it took over 5 minutes to get someone to clean it up. I had an appointment, but waited more than 15 minutes. The vet who saw my cat, while very nice, was young and inexperienced. She did not even check my cat's teeth until I asked her to.

I boarded my dog there for the very first time. They were all wonderful, unfortunately we were not used of the boarding thing so we would not do it again. But if we did we would surely use them.

There is an doctor there named Jody Clark, and she is absolutely amazing. I have used them for twenty years, and they have always been fantastic.
