Getting approved for a home loan and getting the best possible rate can be overwhelming. Mike Stein and his amazing team have really streamlined the process and made what could be stressful very smooth. They made shee we understood what was happening at every turn and took the burden out of the dreaded documentation process. They are incredibly responsive and helpful. I've used them before and I know I will use them again. They really made a huge difference in our home purchasing journey!

They were efficient, responsive and professional. They walked us through every step of the way and made sure we were comfortable and understood all the documents before signing them. They assisted us in securing the best rate possible and were flexible in speaking to us after hours when necessary. Most of the paperwork was done electronically which assisted in simplifying the process and cutting down on the time we had to take off from work. We would definitely recommend them to others.

It went great, Mike and his team did everything right and made the transaction extremely smooth.  I had a VA loan, which made the cost of low extremely low for lender costs.  The other typical closing costs are not attributed to the lender and not included in my service cost provided (since they don't apply to the lender).

Mike was awesome.  We are looking for a mortgage to buy a single family home and i called his office to make an appointment.  Was greeted very professionally and was able to get in to see him the next day.  Upon arrival, again i was greeted professionally and waited only a few minutes to see mike even though i was early.  We went back to his office and went over our scenario and ran the numbers.  Our situation is complicated and mike took the time to understand our credit and history and even though we could not submit a loan application that day, he did not brush us off.  Instead he took the time to tell me in great detail what we needed to do to get a loan completed and also gave us an idea of what to expect once we did the items he suggested.  You can believe that in a few months when i have completed these items, i will be back to see mike to finish our mortgage application.

Mike is simply the best loan officer you can get. I have worked in some mortgage companies (none that Mike worked for) so I know a lot of loan officers. When rates went down I was recommended to Mike and he made the process simple. The rates dropped to an even better low a couple of years later so I talked to Mike and refinanced a second time. This time his system had been upgraded so I could upload all of my paperwork through a secure system. Very nice and very easy! He is also very knowledgeable and can answer almost any questions.

I had another preferred lender in the past but my clients and I are extremely happy that I made the switch in 2010 to Mike Stein with McLean Mortgage.  This team has such a great reputation in Northern Virginia that it also helps my clients win during multiple offer situations.   Thanks Mike, Chris and Cindi for all your hard work and for taking excellent care of my buyers!

I have had the pleasure of having Mike Stein be the loan officer for both my original home purchase and for my recent refinance.  Even though these transactions were 13 years apart, there was no doubt in my mind that I would rely on Mike to refinance my mortgage.  For many months I would ask Mike if it was the right time for me to refi.  Each time he would look at all my financials, and give me an estimate, but would explain that it probably wasn’t the best time for me.  Then, finally it was the right time.  Mike worked with me to figure out which mortgage option was the best choice for me.  He explained the ins and outs of them and made a recommendation on which he believed was best and why.  I felt totally confident in choosing what Mike recommended.  The entire process went so smoothly.  His whole team worked hard behind the seems to make it appear to easy peasy.  Before I knew it, I was at my closing.  I couldn’t believe how simple the whole process was, yet again.  Thank you Mike.  You will definitely be my go to guy for my next home purchase.

Mike does an excellent job as a mortgage lender.  He is very knowledgable about the industry, products and programs.  Mike took the time to find out the best product for my situation.  I will continue to recommend Mike to my friends and family.

Mike and his staff were extremely helpful through the process.  There were able to get me pre-approved for my loan easily, and 95% of the mortgage was done on-line.  Chris Barker gave me status update calls every Tuesday to let me know if there were any concerns and gave me updates on the closing.  The loan closed smoothly, and I couldn't have asked for better.  I have also done a refinance with him or my previous home.  It went smoothly, and was closed in a timely manner.  His rates are very competitive, but more importantly, he was true to his word in all aspects.   I look forward to working with him in the future.
