We worked with Armani and were very pleased with his input, responsiveness, and professionalism. He provided us with a competitve estimate, did not pressure us into the sale, and made sure the work was done promptly and that we were happy with the results. The floors looked great and are holding up pretty well, 4 years later. We'd be interested in hiring Lux Flooring for any further work we may do in the future. The only problem we encountered was that the workmen did not plug our refrigerator back in after they finished the work and when we came back from vacation, our food was spoiled. However, Lux apologized profusely and promptly refunded us the value of the food we had replaced, no questions asked - great customer service.

I can't express how happy I am with the service that I received from Lux Flooring.  I called various companies, received many quotes and decided to work with Lux Flooring.  I was initially impressed by the knowledge and insight that Brian Wilson (company rep) provided to me during our original meeting at my home.  He provided great insight about our floors, what might work best and how to resolve some split pieces of wood that we had in our kitchen.  Lux was extremely flexible when it came to the dates we chose to have the project completed.  Within less than 10 days of signing the contract, they arrived on a Saturday and completed the project on time.  Better yet, their knowledgeable crew came the day before the project started and provided me with different test color (on my floors)  to determine the exact color I wanted.  This process may sound easy, but it truly isn't.  I am so grateful to Nelson for educating me on how different stains take on various other colors when put onto the floors.  He was patient, understanding and ultimately mixed a color that is absolutely gorgeous.  I am so thrilled with my floors and the outcome of the project that I highly recommend Lux Flooring and would happily use them again.

We worked with Brian Wilson, who was really great. He came to our house, made suggestions, and gave us a very reasonable quote. We got three different estimates, and Lux Flooring was not the cheapest, but they were very reasonable, and we were confident they would do excellent work, and we were right. They really care, and we are very happy. Recently we hired them again to install carpeting in a small guest room.

Brian Wilson came to the house and gave us a very thorough and professional estimate on new wooden flooring. We had carpeting throughout the house and we were ready to replace it with wood. He provided some excellent advice on the style, color, and installation.
The installation went very smoothly and the flooring turned out beautifully. We will certainly use Lux flooring again.

We met salesperson Brian Wilson at the DC Home Show in April and were impressed with his product knowledge and design savvy. After receiving several quotes from local, well-know vendors, we choose LUX because of our favorable impression that Brian would be with us from start to finish -- which was the case! On the appointed date and time Orlando and Elmer covered the furniture, cabinets, chandeliers and hallways with plastic barrier sheeting. and removed the oak on the first day . The next several days they consulted with us regarding differing tones of the natural maple. Our LR and DR are stunning blonde tones and the den and kitchens are equally dramatic (and less formal ) but with differing natural maple color-tones. The work area was cleaned each evening on departure.
Orlando and Elmer are two of the finest floor craftsmen we have encountered.
LUX, with Brian Wilson at the helm, made the process painless--absolutely superb in every respect.

Did an excellent job all around. Very responsive to concerns and questions. Had one question and they stopped work and did not start again until I was satisfied and ready to move forward. Great team of folks!

At first I thought they looked nice, but after moving into the house I realized that they missed many details. The things they missed are the ones you won't see at the beginning because you are not living in the house. For example: the corners where the machine doesn't reach were not properly finished, they didn't put filling in many little wholes, they patched a piece and it really stands out from the rest. This is a company that won't put a nail without charging extra, so they should deliver the same way. They are two sales people that sub-contract work and don't supervise the jobs. I have no problem with sub-contractors, but you pay that extra money so they would do the supervision for you. I doubt these floors will last a long time. I think they can improve their quality if they take time to supervise sub-contractors. Last, the sub-contractor was nice to deal with.

Hi. It is hard to decide who to choose for contracting jobs, because its hard to know what you will get. After this very bad and stressful experience, I have to tell you that I am hard pressed to go with a smaller company like this for carpet ever again. *** I found this out the hard way ... if a contractor refuses to comply there are very few practical options for the consumer. You are basically screwed. **** All the options are more costly or trouble than they are worth. One thing that I did learn and will implement (advice given recently), is to not pay the entire bill until the job is finished. It makes sense how much of a difference it makes when they dont have all the money. So that being said, I would go with a bigger company who values their national name and reputation. I believe this company has changed names at least once (after doing more research into this company). I would choose Empire or another place like Home Depot, who have some skin in the game in terms of their national reputation and the infrastructure to provide better service. In this business you can find a nice carpet anywhere, so the lynchpin is the install and service. In short, the carpets were nice (but you pay for that quality and they are not the only ones with nice carpet), but the service was a nightmare. The owner Armani was nice enough in the beginning and his associates promised the world in terms of service. But as soon as problems arose, he immediately went on the defensive (and then offensive in terms of treatment and customer concern and service). You can tell a lot about a persons values, personality, and just overall who he/she is in these situations ... and I have to say that I found the business to be of very poor character morally and otherwise. For details please email me and I will be happy to explain it all. You will be pretty shocked. Trust me ... you do not need the stress of dealing with a company such as this ... and it is stressful. To quote one of my favorite comedy sitcoms ... Martin: For God's sake, Frasier, you're forty-one years old - it's time you learned something. The system ain't perfect - sometimes the bad guy wins. And all those things you thought would be around to help you, the courts and the police department - well, sometimes, they're just not there when you need them, so you can let it eat a hole in your stomach or you can just file it away under the heading "Sometimes life sucks." Frasier: Yeah, well, that file's getting pretty thick! " Don't let that file get any thicker than need be ... stay away from this one :(. If you go to google maps and type "lux floors fairfax", it will give you another shocking and disturbing review as well.

They were excellent to deal with. Their salesmen were fantastic. Their installation crews were very professional. They were prompt. They did everything correctly. They kept the work area really clean. When they were moving some lumber, they accidentally broke one of our light fixtures but they quickly accepted their fault. Their manager called and said that they would pay for it. He told me not to worry about it and also asked me to tell him what it would be. We were very happy with their service. In fact we are going to have them come out and do more work for us next year. We will absolutely use their services again in the future.

Overall working with Lux was a good experience. The only "glitches" were having to reschedule an appointment due to illness and to reschedule the installation because the estimator scheduled it on too short a timeframe--trying to meet our request to install before putting our house on the market. Lux representatives were pleasant and professional to deal with. We would use them again.

Lux installed hardwood throughout the main level of my home and did a wonderful job. Brian was extremely professional and was the most knowledgeable person out of all the companies I got proposals from. I was sure to get 3 proposals and Lux was referred to me by a friend. They were pennies over the lowest priced firm and WELL under the third price I got. Not only was the salesman (Brian) very knowledgeable but but the installation team came into my home, introduced themselves by name and made me very comfortable. They literally told me I'm free to give suggestions while they're working. I would HUGELY recommend this company.
