LUX Flooring Specialists
About us
Today’s job is the only job. No matter what we have completed, what else we’re working on, or what we plan for tomorrow, the core value at Lux is to treat the floor at hand as if it’s the only job of importance. The reason we have grown so fast is because we never forget our client base. If we didn’t perform yesterday or don’t do so today, we will not have a name worth standing on tomorrow—and we don’t forget that. Hard work, attention to detail, and true ethics is the most common of “common sense” practice at Lux Flooring Specialists. Lux (meaning “light,” in Latin) was founded on the premise that construction and remodeling should not be so difficult. The re-flooring process can and should be easy, inexpensive, and enjoyable. How so? Lux uses the latest in technological tools and process management advancements to be the most efficient, high quality, and value-added flooring company in the DC/Baltimore area. Lux clients enjoy the wide selection of carpet, hardwood, laminate, tile, and stone products on display in our showroom. Our showrooms have over 9,000 different flooring materials on display and are organized using the proprietary Lux Floor Selection System, making them content-rich yet easy to navigate. Those who are familiar with the University of Virginia undoubtedly know the power its very unique honor system holds. For those who are not, the Honor System at UVA is the simplest yet most powerful notion in both business and everyday life: In short, it is a code of conduct that holds accountable one’s own honor in all decisions made. It demands that members exercise the highest ethical standards in every single day-to-day decision. As alumni of The University, Lux leadership works hard to ensure all members of the team follow this strict code of ethics. We pride ourselves on being the most professional flooring company in the area and our honor code is the cornerstone of our practice.

"We don’t deserve a bad rating for this. I understand the homeowner’s frustration and feel for the bad situation she’s in, but this has nothing to do with Lux. It’s a window issue. This home had Brazilian Cherry installed a year before Lux was introduced. That floor had shrunk and at the time the homeowner blamed some unknown bad installers. Lux was hired to remove the floor and install new wood. We did so. Now the wood we installed, the 2nd installation in this home, has shrunk the same way the 1st one did. Lux always follows CFI standards and we did so on this job too, we verified the entire logistic process in detail. We then called an inspector who did a site visit and concluded that huge humidity swings within the house caused the wood to shrink as it did. Long story short: This home has leaky/drafty windows. Lux had no way of knowing that homeowner’s house isn't properly closed to outdoor humidity swings. If a 3rd round of wood flooring was to be installed the exact same thing would happen again, which is why we literally cannot do anything to fix her floors. It's a window issue."
The installation went very smoothly and the flooring turned out beautifully. We will certainly use Lux flooring again.
Orlando and Elmer are two of the finest floor craftsmen we have encountered.
LUX, with Brian Wilson at the helm, made the process painless--absolutely superb in every respect.
"This is Armani, the owner of Lux. I’m very sorry to hear about this. I’m new to Angie’s list and just saw this post today. I believe, from the timing and description, that I know who this is and will call you this afternoon. I wish you had called us back if you found flaws on the floor while moving in. The last time we spoke you had not moved in yet and you were 100% happy with everything. It’s not too late to fix it for you, though, so I will be in touch via telephone today."
"My name is Armani Mahoozi, the owner of Lux. I'm new to Angie’s list and just saw this post. It is apparently from 2009 and I’m not really sure who this is or what the source of dissatisfaction was. I would love to find a resolution, though, so if the poster would like to reach out to me please do so. Regarding the name change comment, we have bought two competitors, one called “Carpet Warehouse” and the other called “National Carpet” so yes both of those operations have now changed to Lux. Not sure if this complaint stems from the merger/acquisitions? The original name of “Lux” has remained the same since I wrote my business plan as a student at the University of Virginia in 2005."
