Hava Tech

Our family lost a big chunk of our home to a house fire in which all of the interior of the home had to be gutted and replaced. We chose Hava Tech for the competitive pricing and as a professional reference from a previous client of Hava Tech. As we were going through so much with renovations and being displaced, The owner of Hava Tech really simplified everything for us. I appreciated his Modus Operandi, which was very much focused on ensuring we got the best of the best service, equipment, and pricing and walking with us every step of the way. We are incredibly happy with the work that he performed on our home, which was not only the replacement of an entire HVAC system on a home, but educating us on how to use a modern system. Hava Tech worked  in a timely fashion, most often finishing work prior to deadlines while keeping us updated on every step that was taken, and working very closely with our insurance company and adjusters which saved us a lot of time as well. We are very happy with the level of service Hava Tech provides, and will be calling on them for any future HVAC work.

We bought this for our daughter at her house.  Her a/c has a slow leak and each year she needs to add some Freon.  The appointment was scheduled between noon and 5:00pm.  She was supposed to get a call in the morning to give her a more narrow window of time so she would not miss so much work.  No one called either her or us.  When no one showed up by 4:30, we called them.  They said they were running late.  They showed up around 6:00 pm.  The technician yelled at her for not changing the furnace filter.  She handed him a new one and he changed it.  He said she needed a new HVAC system.  She said she was in college, working 3 jobs and could not afford one.  He asked if she wanted him to call her parents.  We don't own the property.  Our daughter does.  She felt belittled by his comments.  Her a/c was frozen and he said he didn't have time to wait for it to thaw - about 20 minutes, he said.  So, she got no Freon. I don't know if he did any kind of check on the furnace or a/c.  He may have or he may not have.  She felt like all he wanted was to sell her a new system.   I understand the technician may have had a bad day but he should not take it out on the customer.  Our daughter called another service provider who then gave her Freon.

We had to call them separately, so we had to have it serviced without the big deal. So we kind of paid money for the big deal, but never ended up using it because we had to call for earlier service. That was unfortunately how it turned out. I've been exchanging e-mails with the person to do just kind of an overall assessment, or whatever the deal was. But I needed them to come and fix something. He was good and responsive. He came right away and gave us some honest feedback.

My husband handled it but he had no complaints.

Hossein (I believe he is the owner)  inspected my old unit and informed me of what I had been told by other technicians over the last two years: it was old and no amount of work would make it perform as well as I wanted it to.  The difference is that he gave me a price for a new unit that was $3000 less than other companies because he was not trying to sell me other components which were not necessary at the time.  The technicians like to start early in the day, so the new unit was up and running by early afternoon.  They were friendly and professional.  The whole experience makes Hava Tech well-deserving of their place on Angie's List.

The two technicians showed up at  7:30 am Friday morning as promised and installed the new A/C within 3 hours.

They did the job when I needed it done and did a good job.

They came out on time and fixed the problem.
It was an easy fix.
AC Unit had dust in in the ignition fan.
They ran the full diagnostic.
I asked if he could show me how to do it, at first he said just clean it out with a paper clip.
Then he said you better call us.
The same problem happened and I paid again.
I think they wanted more business by not showing me how the remove the dust.
I later had the same problem and spent a little time on the internet to learn how to fix it.
I wish they had just showed me how, seemed like they were a little more into it for the money than I would have liked.

Overall, the experience was ok but I would likely not re-hire HAVA based on my first experience unless they have some reasonable explanation for their lack of follow-up and inability of the technician to locate the equipment that was in plain view.

They gave an estimate of 1,400 when another contractor gave an estimate of $400 to fix the same problem (although I'm not sure the $400 contractor actually fixed the problem). He did not really explain what was wrong and was not helpful. He also played fast and loose on the time he was going to arrive.

Overall experience was great. The contractor was very competetive with the price compared to five other estimates for the same equipment which ranged from $4800-> $6800. Service was great and very professional.

Our air conditioning simply didn't work when we initially turned it on. The guys from Hava Tech came out in a couple of days and had it replaced and up and running in two days! They also included a free humidifier and a very reasonable service contract for any future maintenance/issues.

I think they are very honest. I?ve dealt with other people who recommend unnecessary work, but he gave very helpful advice and in the most cost effective way. I will continue to use them in the future.

Same day service! It was cold! Two technicians arrived three hours early (they did call first)! Quickly fixed the problem and checked the system.
