I recently contracted with Hambleton Lawn and Landscape to aerate and overseed my lawn. The company was aware that I have a sprinkler system, however, due to a miscommunication the yard was aerated and overseed before I could mark the sprinkler system and a line was ruptured in the process. That is the not so good news that is shared with Andrew and the good news is that he was apologetic, professional and responded immediately with corrective some positive actions. Andrew had Ed come out to assess the damage. I was impressed with his dedication, patience and professionalism. He demonstrated a high level of energy, ambition, honesty, integrity, self-confidence, and job knowledge. Ed schedules a return visit to make the repairs and when about an hour before the agreed time, he called to tell me know that he was finishing up on a job that ran over and would about 10 minutes late. Ed arrived and made the repair. He was proficient, skilled and reassuring by his competence. He made sure before leaving that I was comfortable with the overall repair and even took time to recalibrate the sprinkler heads, which he did not have to do. Ed demonstrated a caring attitude about excellent customer service and a high level of dedication and work ethics. while one of the successful outcomes of exceptional customer service might begin at point of sale, it reaches a good or bad place quickly based on the interactions and display of knowledgeable skills, a positive attitude, a relentless work ethic and professionalism on the part of the servicing/maintenance team member(s) for ensuring a job well done. In Ed, I see a Hambleton brand and core values of fairness, honesty, sincerity, accountability, commitment to customers and these attributes impress me. It is quite evident to me that both Andrew and Ed understand the value of creating and maintaining effective customer relationships and that is impressive. I believe in Hambleton Lawn and Landscape because the company exceeded my expectations in a manner that was more than any of my prior lawn service providers and based on this first impression and quality of this experience, I highly recommend Hambleton as a preferred professional in lawn care service.

Excellent, which usually involves mowing, edging and clean-up. The two-man crew always arrives promptly on time and gets right to work. They finish much quicker than I could hope to do myself and leave a well-manicured lawn behind. We are pleased with their work and hope to continue to avail ourselves of their services in the future.

They have come regularly as promised, and for the most part do a good job. We have an extensive garden, so not every weed is taken care of, but they are saving me a lot of work.

They do great work, they do it when they say are going to do it, and I find them to be reasonable on pricing, and have several times had them adjust prices according to changing circumstances. Their crews are friendly and professional, and as a company, they communicate regularly and respond to customer communications promptly.

My subdivision currently contracts with Hambleton for group leaf removal, however, I missed being able to sign up this year. Instead, I called Hambleton directly and within 48 hours they had removed nearly 30 yards of leaves piled 4.5 feet tall along my curb. Their staff (Sean) was on top of every step, responded to my inquiry, provided me some options, gave me a reasonable quote, set me up in their online payment/scheduling system, dispatched their top gun team of leaf removal artists, and all were friendly and professional throughout the entire process. I look forward to working with them again.

This is my second review. My first review was glowing. This one, not so much. For some reason, one of the men on the crew decided to pull the fuse from my Air Conditioner and throw it on the ground. This was after a rookie did my lawn one week, and had to be called back to fix the places he missed cutting and trimming, and after they moved us from Thursday to Wednesday, despite the fact that we joined them the year prior because they had availability later in the week. I am sure some crews are great and don't pull pranks, but I would not deal with them again.

Let's put it this way: I never have had a bad experience with Hambletons in all the years I have used their services. Any minor problems promptly were handled and corrected. All of the work crews (weekly mowing; clean-ups and mulching; special projects) have been friendly, courteous, and professional. The crews always have worked diligently the entire time they have been on my property. Cost estimates willingly have been provided when asked, but I almost always have opted for time and materials and never have regretted it. I always have felt I received my money's worth, otherwise I would not have worked with Hambletons for the length of time that I have. Hambletons truly is a Northern Virginia gem!

See above. In addition, we have always been very pleased with the quality of their work, their professionalism, and their approach that what was most important was to get the job done expertly, efficiently and at the least expense as possible.

Hambleton's has always done good work,with timely and professional staff and reasonable rates, which were adjusted with requests that I made. It is a pleasure to have such a responsive and high-quality company to work with. I have also recommended Hambleton's to several of my neighbors!

We cannot express how pleased we are with the service. The staff is great, friendly and professional.  They relock my gate, which is important to me, having a dog, and they even picked up a plant that the wind had knocked over, last time they came.

It went great. The yard always looks great when they are finished.

They are dynamite! They are great. My neighbor even wanted their name after what they had done here.

They are also coming to do the first fertilizing and pest control service of the year today, 4/9. It is A+ work! The prices are very fair for the work they are doing for me.

We had Hambleton Lawn and Landscape provide weekly mowing and weeding service for two years. They did a fine job, I'd consider their service average to good, but the price kept going up for different reasons, and we eventually switched to another company. They initially quoted us $40/week to mow, plus $10/week to weed, which we agreed to. They then told us that they would charge $700 for a clean-up/mulching, and that the $10/week weeding could start after that, which was fine. About a year later, the price for weeding went up to an hourly rate, and they let us put a cap on the number of hours we were comfortable with, which meant that not all our beds were weeded each time and the cost was about twice the initial price. Then this month, wedding was cancelled and replaced with a "property maintenance" price structure - $30 per visit plus $40 per person per hour to weed. So for three techs to weed for one hour would be $150, which is out of our budget.

Hambletons provides regular care for my lawn. I can rely on them to keep my lawn looking good and they always clean up after leaving. I hired them last fall to do a fairly major bamboo removal project. Almost a third of my yard was bamboo and (as it does) it was creeping forward. The team took a backhoe to the yard to remove the bamboo from the root, removed a couple trees that had been rotting (2 of which were not originally planned for) and installed barriers on the side of the yard with a bamboo neighbor. I had a few shoots leftover and they came back out to remove them once I pointed them out. The crew was very professional. To get the backhoe into the yard, they removed and replaced my fence - no issues. They replaced the topsoil and seeded so I would have grass replace the bamboo. It worked awesome. While they were at it, I had them weed, mulch and take care of a rotting bush. The yard looked so much better. Bamboo is an evil beast if you don't know what you are doing with it. The previous owners of my house did not. Hambletons has helped me take care of a big problem and I've already contracted them for this summer to monitor and remove any shoots that creep back in. All my research has shown that it can be a multi year process and Hambletons will be my provider of choice!
