I have not been impressed with GHA during my interactions with them. Several times throughout my six years of residence in the neighborhood I've had to call with questions. I don't believe I've ever been fortunate to actually speak with a live person on the first call. Usually I leave voice messages repeatedly until I'm finally lucky enough to catch someone at his or her desk. Most recently, I changed my billing to autopay. It took a couple phone calls to get the form from them and then when I resubmitted the form there was not confirmation of receipt, despite my request for one in the email. I am leaving the country tomorrow and needed confirmation before departure. I (again) left several messages over the last two weeks explaining the situation and even sent another email, this one with "urgent" in the title. Again - no response. So I called again today. Per usual the receptionist patched me through to someone else's voicemail even after I told her it was time sensitive. So I called back and explained that I needed to speak to someone immediately, I couldn't do voicemails anymore. She then became INCREDIBLY rude and condescending telling me that "I sit in front of a switch board and I can't see whose there or not" after her little rant she patched me through to someone else who surprisingly answered his phone. His name is Joel and I don't know his position but he was able to answer my question. I told him I was appalled at his secretary's behavior and he apologized and said that I am not the first person to complain about her. (!?!?!?) He said he would "speak with her" which we all know means nothing, especially since he's already told me I'm not the first one to complain. He also apologized for the delay (how about, LACK) of response from the billing department, but that they were "short-staffed." Last time it was "tax season" and that's why no one responded to me. Look, I know things happen and everyone has bad days, but this is a continuing problem. Furthermore, the receptionist's behavior towards a client was inexcusable. If I heard one of my employees speaking like that to a customer, I would fire her. With the job market the way it is, I know I could find a POLITE person with the skills to answer and transfer my calls. As an added note, I was calling their corporate office in Fairfax so you'd think of all the offices, this one would be the most professional. Very discouraging. I've written to my HOA to also let them know about the issue since GHA certainly isn't going to take the complaint of one resident seriously. Perhaps Angie's List will also raise this issue to a level that can address it.
Description of Work: GHA manages my townhome community. They collect our HOA dues and run the HOA's bank accounts, etc.
