 + -1 moreInitially, there was a little bit of confusion and I had to make several follow up phone calls before I received my samples in the mail, but they did finally arrive. The sample packs of the different colors were very useful and the distributor, Marty, was also helpful in answering all my questions. My order was placed by phone, credit card charged, and the bags were delivered to my house a couple of weeks later. The delivery time can vary, depending on factors such as whether the product is already in stock in the warehouse in Lorton. I ran short and had to place a second order, which arrived in just a couple of days. The website www.futuremulch.com is also very helpful in explaining the entire process. We are very satisfied, and I'm sure we'll continue to be in 6 months, when it will still look like new.
Description of Work: I learned about Future Mulch from their website, extremely realistic looking. It is actually made from rubber tires and is supposed to last up to 20 years. We were tired of spending $1500 twice a year to keep our landscaping looking good, so we decided to give it a try. The disadvantages are that it does not impart nutrients, like natural mulch, and also it is substantially more expensive (roughly $13/20 lb. bag. The bags are small as it is heavier than regular mulch). In the beginning it has a rubber tire smell, but that dissipates after a few hot days. But so far the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages because it is heavy, it doesn't float or wash away. It keeps weeds down and moisture in. It does not attract termites or grow mushrooms and mold. And it looks absolutely great. We purchased roughly 300 bags to do our entire yard, which is entirely landscaped (no grass). The comments from the neighbors have been very favorable.
