Excellent carpet and installation. They had provided service years ago and it was excellent then as well. I will be replacing existing flooring in other areas of my home and will definitely reach out to Matt and hope that Alex and Ruben will be the installers.

Very prompt and professional. They assisted with choosing appropriate carpet for the basement, measured the same day and installed the following week. They did a beautiful neat clean and professional job.

The selection of carpets (at the store location in Fairfax) was excellent. No hard sell just plenty of knowledgeable answers to questions posed. The measuring and installation were done in a very reasonable amount of time. Workmanship excellent. Don't go anywhere else.

We are very happy that we contracted with Fairfax Floors. Matt was easy to work with - he listened to my needs before preparing his estimate, gave me options across a range of products, yet never pressured me to do more than what I wanted. The price was very competitive and finalizing the contract was easy and efficient. On the day of installation, his crew arrived precisely on time, worked quietly, cleanly, and quickly, and finished the job with care.
If there is one opportunity for improvement, I would suggest reaching out if there is a delay in receiving the materials prior to installation. When the time frame (between initialing the contract to receiving the order at their warehouse to scheduling the install) was longer than initially estimated, I had to approach Fairfax Floors for an update. I would have been more impressed with service if I was instead contacted first with updated information. To their credit, Matt was immediately responsive to my question about the delay, and, ultimately, we are very pleased by how the entire process went. I simply suggest this so that all aspects of customer service are equally excellent.

It cost $2900. When they installed the carpet, they had to take off fixed doors in order to get the carpet to fit underneath the doors. They just left the doors off the hinges, leaning up against the walls in the house. What they needed to do was to cut maybe about half an inch off the bottom of the doors, which they did not do. I had to pay a contractor to come back in the house and cut the bottoms of these doors, probably to the tune of about $300 or $400. I told them that I was very unhappy with that. They said, "Well, if you would have called us we would have come in and done it." I shouldn't have had to call them. They should have just done it, rather than just leaving them leaning up against the walls in the house. That demotes them from B+ to C. The work they did turned out excellent. My interactions with them was excellent.

We had an excellent experience with this company. We had just moved into the house and needed to have old carpet and wood flooring replaced. Matt Muller assisted me throughout the process and was extremely helpful and responsive. I described in VERY general terms what I wanted, since I don't know that much about flooring, and he was the only one of the three companies who gave us an estimate who didn't seemed shocked that I didn't have very specific materials in mind. He gathered some recommended materials based on my description and had them waiting for me when I arrived to meet with him and sign off on the contract. He gave honest opinions about what was worth an upgrade and what wasn't, given our situation with two small children at home, and I trusted his advice. He gave me an accurate estimate of the time the project would take and was very helpful as we decided whether and how long to vacate the premises. When there were minor issues with the quarter round trim during the process he called me and let me know, and even visited after the project was done to make sure I was comfortable with the solutions he chose. I highly recommend this company and Matt in particular.

Based on Angie's list reviews my husband and I went to the Fairfax Floors store - while looking small in size - the store's selections were extensive.  As noted in previous reviews the staff was extremely helpful, friendly and never made us feel rushed in anyway even as we looked and looked and then looked some more. We took some samples home - found they really didn't work with some of our old pine furniture and then gathered more samples.  Mike came out soon thereafter to measure and discuss the job.  We then received a bid in the timeframe Mike gave, and set the schedule for the work.  
This two-person crew was ever so careful in the moving of furniture and even had 4 other people come out to move the palor grand piano so there was no pressure placed on the legs whatsoever.  I have never found a crew more careful of my belongings.  
They were careful to place plastic on the opening of doors to reduce the dust that was created especially with the pulling up of the carpet and the parquet underneath.  This crew - Miguel along with Manny worked ever so hard.  The parquet came up in the tiny pieces that make up such flooring (not in sheets at all) and was very hard to get off.  The crew worked morning - arriving as indicated to well after 5 PM each day to get the job done - ending at 9 PM even next to last evening.  While Mike had ordered extra flooring to account for the need to line up the boards well and thus salvage that results, he also ordered with caution to be frugal and thus the order was one box short on the wood (really  1/2 box short).   While I did need to reschedule our painters as a result, they rush ordered the new box and made an extra effort to Miquet back in quickly to finish as we didn't want to reschedule the painters still again and also were going to be leaving town.  Long story short (and to my chagrin when I realized the day that Miguel agreed to come in) he finished the job the afternoon of Easter.  That in my book is going way above and beyond. Miguel was careful and very skillful with his work, cleaned up thoroughly, found a solution to some sliding oriental doors to bring the sliding base up to the right height, and laid a floor that is absolutely gorgeous - with perfect molding and transitions strips.  We are exceptionally pleased with the whole experience (Okay it was disconcerting to have 3 rooms out of use in our house but that was known going in of course!)  This would be a company I think Angie's List might like to feature in their monthly magazine to have them explain how their company accomplishes this great service and product.

Matt was a pleasure to work with.  He got me a quick quote for a great price and also worked with me to allow me to do some of the preparation work to help lower the price even more.  The work was well done and the carpet looked great.  I would right more but the work was almost 3 years ago and I don't remember much other than the fact that it was a great experience!

We had a burst pipe in our basement in late February.  Got the water cleanup guys to dry it out, but they pulled up the carpet in two rooms and cut out a small section of carpet, and a short section of wood backing on the concrete floor, in order to remove a small moldy patch.  I called Fairfax Floors to see if they could lay the carpet down again and patch a section of the carpet that the cleanup guys had cut out.  They were very friendly on the phone.  I emailed them pictures of the work and they gave the estimate of $275 by email.  (Another company I emailed the same pictures to estimated the work at $500.)  I had some extra carpet and carpet padding and left these out for them when they arrived (my wife was home when they did the work, not me) which I think cut down on the cost.  They were on time, did the work quickly, and the patch job they did on the carpet is so good that you can't tell that it's been patched.  They did not add any charges to the $275 estimate, so that's what we paid.  Quality work for a fair price.  I would use them again based on this experience.

Installation was painless and done well. Happy with the end product. The installers were prompt with their arrival and the people we were dealing with prior to that were all responsive and easy to deal with. We went into the store prior to making our purchase to see the various selections of carpet and the person we dealt with was very helpful and patient with us (we are very indecisive and had a baby with us). When we go to do further carpet installation we would use them again.

It has been a pleasure working with Nick from Remodel Free.  He handled a complete home renovation from top to bottom and took care of everything.  The house is stunning, with gorgeous finishes from the flooring to the bath tile design to the light fixtures and paint colors.  The kitchen was a full remodel with new cabinets, granite, stainless appliances, recessed lighting.  The exterior touches included a stone front stoop and a matching stone rear patio, landscaping and mulch it all looks great.  It was a truly amazing conversion from start to finish.  Nick keeps track of the estimates and any changes to the scope of work to make sure you're updated. If something unexpected comes up, he handles it calmly and quickly.  Many issues that might have been a logistical nightmare become something Nick can handle in his consistently professional way.   It is amazing what he can clean up and fix to make any home shiny and new.  He is professional, responsive and ethical.  He really cares about the final product and making sure it's done right.  I was impressed that he was always available for questions and solutions and worked together to come up with the best answer possible.  I would highly recommend Remodel Free to professionally and quickly get your house into tip-top shape... from top to bottom, start to finish a great job!

The installers showed up on schedule, they were able to get the work done when requested.  They removed the old carpet and cleaned up (broom clean) the room before installing new padding and carpet.  We had a unique shaped step and a closet that needed carpet under the threshold.  The stairs came out great and do not squeak.  The re-tightening of the bedroom carpet was great, they tightened both ends of the room which was more work than I expected.  They did the job without a complaint and moved heavy furniture, worked quickly and efficiently from start to finish.  The crew was pleasant and professional.  Nate from the showroom was very helpful and courteous and made sure the job was scheduled and done well.  Thank you!

Great. From the initial call to the store to the installation. Everyone involved was respectful and easy to work with. Price was a little more than I expected but the quality is great and the upgrade for Angie's List members was appreciated. Mike brought the samples to my house the day after I called the office and the installation team (Alex-I think & another gentleman) were quick.

All of my interactions with Fairfax Floors were positive.  My primary contact, Kevin, was extremely professional and helpful.  Everyone who was involved was professional and helpful.

Just last week I had Fairfax Floors remove 6 layers of flooring in my kitchen, so a new Armstrong laminate flooring could be installed. From the initial meeting to the final installation they arrived on time, respected your home and cleaned up at the end of each day. Everyone in which I had contact with was not only courteous, but very knowledgable in the products that they sell and install. I'm in the process of remodeling our condo and I will be using them as I update the flooring throughout.

Fairfax Floors did an all-around outstanding job, everything was done professionally, timely, and exactly how we wanted it.  The first time we walked into their showroom, based on previous Angie's list reviews, Kevin gave us a thorough rundown on all of our options (we weren't sure if we wanted tile, carpet, or something else) and patiently answered all of our questions.  We decided to go with them because of their carpet selection, their customer-focused attitude, and because their price was very competitive with other companies that we visited.  However, once we set an installation date, delays in our basement remodeling forced us to delay the installation by three weeks.  No problem, Kevin and his folks were super accommodating.  At the set date, the installation crew was on-time, made sure that they were doing what we wanted, and did a great job.  The next day, Kevin called to make sure everything was all right and also offered to bind--free of charge--the small pieces of carpet that he knew we were going to use.  Our entire experience with Fairfax Floors was positive.  We will definitely use them again and would definitely recommend them to anyone else.           

Had a medium size flooring project with hardwood on stairs + half the basement  and carpet the other half.
Fairfax floors provided excellent samples and advice from the start.
As the hardwood was nearing completion I got some flooding in the basement and had to halt the project.  Fairfax Floors most patiently waited while I got my leaking issues fixed which took the better part of a month. In that time they came back to correct a small flaw with the hardwood flooring - no questions asked.
Finally they came back and had a sub finish the carpeting.  The work was done on time with high quality.
All Fairfax Floors employees and subs did an excellent job communicating be it thru phone / text / email and were punctual as well as highly professional.
I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Our experience with Fairfax Floors was exceptional!  We were referred to them by a neighbor who had them install hardwood flooring and was very satisfied.  We worked with Matt Muller, who was friendly, professional and responsivie throughout the process.  There was no pressure at all.  Matt understood we had a budget to work within, and he did his best to meet our needs.  He thoroughly explained the various available options -- particularly with the basement flooring, and provided us multiple estimates for each different type of flooring and carpeting.  We received estimates from several other highly rated flooring companies, and Fairfax Floors beat all of them in price -- as well as responsiveness and courtesy.  Fairfax Floors even coordinated the installation so that both the carpeting and LVT flooring could be installed in the same day.  We had a lot of heavy bedroom and basement furniture to move, and I was somewhat skeptical that it could be accomplished in a single day, but Matt assured me that he would send a big enough crew to get it done.  Well, his "big crew" was 3 guys for most of the day with a 4th to help finish up the basement, and they completed the job as promised.  The installation crews were professional and friendly and worked their tails off for about 10 hours straight, but they got everything installed beautifully and returned all the furniture to its proper place -- asking us several times if we were satisfied.
In sum, we couldn't be happier with our new carpets and flooring.  Fairfax Floors and, in particular, Matt Muller and his installation crew, did an outstanding job from start to finish, and we would absolutely recommend them for your flooring needs!  We definitely will use them again!

First I met with Mike at the sales office. No hard sell. I felt comfortable and returned a few days later with my husband. We selected a carpet. Got home did some research and choose another carpet. Fairfax did not have sample and had it mailed to me. I choose three to select from. The samples arrived and within a week of ordering the carpet was installed. I was insured by Mike the carpet was available. The installation men arrived timely. They were professional. Furniture removed and replace to my satisfaction. I am a satisfied customer. Will use them again.

I was very pleased with the quality of the work.  You can't see where the carpet was replaced.  The seams don't even show.
It was a small job replacing a 2 ft x 5 ft section of carpet, but it was extremely well done.  Everyone that I dealt with at the office and the repairman:  all were very professional.
I would use their services again and will definitely consider going to their shop when I have any kind of flooring installed in the future.
