The sales rep contacted me and told me he wanted to be the last person I talked to. I knew this was a sales tactic, but I did give him one estimate from another contractor, as he asked. He kept calling me and stringing me along, but never wanted to actually take a look at my property. He tried to tell me that he would be working on the best package, because he would be privy to all the information. I didn't think this was fair at all and eventually told him that if he wasn't going to bother to come to my property, I was not interested. I fully understand that this style might work for some people, but I was no comfortable with it. In the end, this was one of the reasons I hired my own architect and builder separately, to avoid sales people.
Description of Work: I contacted Daniels Remodeling for an estimate on a kitchen renovation and a master bedroom addition.

Description of Work: Home renovation experience was great. We were impressed by organized and professional approach to our home renovation project that began with the presentation of the proposal and carried through the entire process. We especially appreciated having a person on site at all times to coordinate the subcontractors and material deliveries.

This was our first home renovation project, and we're amazed at how it turned out. One of us works with office renovations regularly, and so we were prepared for the worst as we started this project. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. Ted, Luis, Michael and especially our job foreman Bobby were terrific to work with. The price led to a raised eyebrow at the beginning, but by the end, we most assuredly got our money's worth. Communication was excellent throughout the main project; the punch list took a little longer to complete than anyone expected, due to problems with downstream suppliers. We're contemplating redoing the kids' bathroom and the kitchen, and we'd have no hesitation to call them again.

After a major leak under our shower, we decided to take the opportunity to completely re-do our master bathroom. Daniels Design helped us from start to finish in the design, fixture/cabinet/tile/color selection, demolition and renovation. It was a complete re-do, including replacing all tile, plumbing fixtures, sink, vanity, etc. and removal of our master bathroom tub and installation of a larger, frameless glass shower, and took about 6 weeks. We could not be happier with the results and the entire process. The entire team at Daniels Design was courteous, responsive, and professional. We were walked through the project schedule at the beginning, and had weekly meetings with the project supervisor, Ron, to make sure everything was on-track (which it almost always was) and to address any changes or questions. The on-site supervisor, Bobby, was here everyday to oversee all the subs. He was always on time, extremely responsive to any questions, and left everything immaculate at the end of each day. Any concerns or issues were addressed promptly, without hassle. The bathroom was completed on-schedule, and we are thrilled with the results. It was the least stressful renovation project we have ever had, and the process was actually pleasant, as far as renovations go. Daniels Design was not the least expensive bid we received, but they were worth every penny, both in terms of customer service and quality of construction. We would use them again and highly recommend them.

Excellent! It is now a year later and we LOVE our new kitchen. There is not one design element or selection I would change. Ted and his team were fantastic to work with. Their professionalism and expertise is bar none the best. I can't wait to have them back to remodel our bathrooms. They truly care about the service and product they provide. I highly recommend Daniels Design.

Daniels Design & Remodeling, Inc. provided us with exceptional service, meticulous attention to detail, quality workmanship and products, and professionalism at every level from the owner (Ted Daniels) to the subcontractors. DD&R tirelessly worked with us to do everything we wanted to accomplish within our budget. They put together a detailed time line and kept to it, finishing in the amount of time they told us it would take. The lead carpenter (Zach) and his teams were here every day, all day, working diligently and courteously. I felt they treated our home and our project as if it were their own. They figured out how to do their job with as minimal disruption to us as possible, which is huge, because the scope of our project affected every room in our home except our bedrooms and two bathrooms. They were all very pleasant and polite to have around, working cheerfully and without any coarse language or behavior. I can't say enough about the lead carpenter, Zach. He is a consummate professional, does his work with intelligence and skill, takes time to give explanations and answer any questions that come up, and is extremely courteous and patient. At the end of each day, the site was neat, tidy, and swept clean. The end result surpassed our expectations in every aspect, and we have not hesitated to give DD&R the highest recommendation to anyone looking for a quality remodeling contractor.

The work started on time. The work was done in accordance with the plans. The workment used great care to see that other areas of the house were sealed off and protected from the work area. Workment were very pleasant. The work finished ahead of schedule even though a couple of extras were added. Excellent job overall!

Very professional, very thorough. Not perfect, but pretty darn close. Very few issues, especially with such a complex job. Carpentry work was exceptional. Plumbing could have been better but their usual guy was unavaiiable. Things happen. But when follow-up plumbing issues arose they were quick to jump on it. I'm a perfectionist, was involved daily; and they worked well with me. Moving appliances and helping me set-up a temporary kitchen while work was being preformed. Clean-up & follow-up afterward were done well too.
Description of Work: The largest portion of the work they did was a kitchen remodel.; new appliances, new hood-vent with roof exhaust, new sink & faucet, expanding size of island, granite countertops, adding gas-line for cooktop, But we also had them do work in associated areas: family room & office. Including replacing a large sliding patio door, moving an interior doorway, adding a small section of wall, closing an interior doorway (and associated electrical), minor HVAC ductwork, installing french doors, adding insulation, refinishing, replacing & repairing hardwood flooring throughout the 3 spaces.

We had a FANTASTIC experience with Daniels Design with the remodel of our kitchen. We love the new kitchen!! Ted and his team guided us through the design stage, demolition and construction. Claire met with us weekly to design the perfect for our family. Ron maintained oversight of the entire project. Zach was on-site every day to ensure the project stayed on scheduled and subcontractors completed their tasks. Daniels Design has a wonderful group of people. We will be using them again to remodel our bathrooms.

Description of Work: Daniels Design has done four projects on my home: a rennovated bathroom; attic insulation and duct alteration; rennovation of deck and painting of the house. Ted Daniels is always available to explain products, procedures, and will work with you on planning. On the bathroom, I was able to buy my own products (with his advice) and that allowed me some significant savings on the job as a whole. Daniels personnel is always there in the morning to manage the contractors and answer any questions as the job goes on. The jobs they have done have been finished on time, according to a schedule which was laid out in detail ahead of time. Daniels is also sensitive to

We had a fantastic experience. This is saying a lot because I was pregnant the entire 9 months of the design/build, with the actual build being approximately the last half of my pregnancy. They made me more comfortable than I could ever have imagined in my own house (we lived in the home while they did the work) AND they finished on time! I think the keys to our success were: - being very thorough in the design phase .. they really got to know us and what we wanted and liked. - being very easy going and relaxed ... these guys are very organized and detail-oriented and they know their trade so well that you don't need to worry about the hiccups that inevitably come up. The way they work, you could design the space, sign the contract, leave for the whole build time, and you would pretty much come back to exactly what you wanted at the end ... they are THAT good (although I am sure they don't recommend you do that)! - Ted is a great communicator. If something is on your mind, he always makes time for you and listens and fixes it. My last piece of advice if you are doing a kitchen reno as part of your remodel is to borrow or purchase a coffeemaker you don't have to clean (Keurig, Flavia, etc.). You won't get through the build without it!
Description of Work: We added a three story addition to our brick colonial. It included a remodeled kitchen, new family room, extended rec room and storage space, and a new master suite. You will not find a better builder/remodeler to work with. You can count on them for everything from the quality of the materials and workmanship to the quality of your life throughout the whole process. This means: - they show up when they say they will - they spend tons of time making sure you understand everything - they are patient and creative during the design phase - they give you options for your budget, but even if you pick a lower-priced option, you are still getting materials and products that are of good quality and that they trust (i.e., they won't install something they know won't work or last) - they are professional and courteous all the time - their subcontractors (which they use for major electric and plumbing, HVAC, and roofing) are held to the same standard and are all courteous, professional, and trustworthy - everyone cleans up at the end of the day so there are no stray nails, dust, etc. - their pricing is very fair compared to others, but for the quality of work, it's actually a bargain because much of what they do is truly priceless

Despite the long time spent discussing my objectives, Ted never submitted a bid to do any of the work. I even called the Daniels office twice asking for their bid, since I had received bids from the other contractors and really wanted the Daniels bid before making my decision. After waiting two weeks, I finally selected another contractor. Obviously, I was disappointed and confused by this initial eagerness and then lack of follow through. I suspect that they decided my work was not worth their time. Don't know what else to conclude.
Description of Work: On October 8, Ted from Daniels Design and Remodeling spent almost 2 hours at my house discussing the three projects I was intending to contract for - a master bath remodel, basement remodel, and front entry hall/powder room remodel. I interviewed 5 contractors, hoping to find the best combination of cost and quality,. I told each that I intended to contract first for the master bath remodel, then proceed to the other projects based on that initial experience. Ted seemed very pleasant, highly professional, and full of good ideas. When he left, I actually told my husband that, while I expected the Daniel's estimate to be the highest of the 5, I would probably select them because they seemed to share my vision for the end results.

I liked Daniels Design & Remodeling, but I decided not to go with them. I thought he was very engaging, very knowledgeable, and very honest. He was very upfront and meticulous. The price was higher than what I had expected, and he was honest about the pricing. It was about $50,000 higher than the company that I ended up with. I have nothing against him. He would?ve done a very good job. I was just more familiar with the person I ended up selecting.
