Description of Work: I entered the store looking for material to reupholster a headboard for a queen size bed. I did two slow, full laps around the store looking at material on display and noted several bolts that I wanted cuttings of. While I was in the store, one salesperson was engaged with a customer, while two others were talking among themselves near a register. No one greeted me or asked me if they could help me. Then, another women entered the store and was immediately greeted and given assistance. What was the difference? Apparently a less-than-slim, middle-aged woman in tennis shoes and no designer bag (that would be me) isn't worth paying attention to at Calico Corners -- despite her $240K annual household income. I felt like Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman" -- though not as pretty. Calico Corners has lost my business FOREVER! Note: I was reluctant to enter that store in the first place, as I had been given similar lack of treatment in previous encounters -- also at different locations. Apparently, store personnel have been trained not to waste their time on people who may not look like "high end" customers. Problem is, these days, lots of people dress very casually on a regular basis, so scoping in on factors like dress size and designer labels is no longer a very good indicator as to who might belong to the socio-economic class Calico Corners may think is worthy of paying their inflated fabric prices -- a class the company has apparently decided to exlusively serve. I may have access to way more money than many Americans -- I recognize that -- but it's been a long road of hard work getting here and I have no interest in the display people put on buying designer brands so as to show off their economic good fortune. I'd rather save for a second home in Maine. Bottom line: The economy just isn't good enough for a company like Calico Corners to succeed with a "we'll pick our customers by how they look" attitude. Good luck with that!

+ -1 moreI’m very satisfied with them. I really liked the quality of the workmanship on the recovering and the care that they took with my furniture. I went with a lady there named Deanna I think, and they contracted out to somebody that they use. The person they contracted the job to did a fantastic job. I didn’t think the prices were great but I didn’t really do a lot of comparison shopping. I was just concerned about my furniture being taken good care of because I was recovering some recliners and I wanted to be sure that they would still work after they were done. I liked their timeliness and they did a professional job. They took good care of my stuff. The price included the fabric and labor. I wanted the job done quickly and so I didn’t do much price comparison. I would use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Calico Corners for upholstery. I last used their services two years ago for upholstering two recliners and a couch.

+ -1 moreThis company did a good job on making the curtains. Their service was good and they delivered when they said they would. I am glad I didn't have them come out to measure and install the curtains as it would have cost me twice as much as it did. They charge a ridiculous price for measuring and installation.
Description of Work: I had this company make some curtains for my five windows. These windows are 19 feet tall.

+ -1 moreTHEY ARE A VERY PLEASANT COMPANY TO WORK WITH. THEY WERE EXTREMELY HELPFUL WHEN I HAD TO PICK OUT THE FABRICS AND DESIGNS FOR MY VALANCES. IT WAS AN ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE.

+ -1 moreTHEY WERE EXPENSIVE AND THEY WERE NOT VERY PRECISE WITH DISCLOSING ALL INFO RELATED TO PRICING AND PROCEDURES. I MAY NOT USE THEM AGAIN AND WOULD PROBABLY RECOMMEND WITH WARNING.
