The day after they cleaned the patio (when it was dry) I noticed that the technician had clearly missed the tops of several columns and the two steps to get onto the patio. I called them right away and told them he had forgotten a few things and explained where he needed to touch up. They promised to send him back out.
Several days later I called them to find out what was going on and I was told that their technician had been back out and that he said the stains weren't going to come off. Someone was home all day when he allegedly came and never saw anyone and of course the stains were still there. The individual I spoke with went on to tell me that it was "mortar that was seeping through" the 2" thick concrete cap and that it wasn't going to come off. Ridiculous. She told me that the technician had already explained that to me, which was not true at all. He had told me a calcium stain on the fireplace wouldn't come off and that's not even an issue here. I told her that the entire cap on the other 80% of the wall had easily come clean and that the 3 tops and 2 steps were obviously just not done. She was combative and simply would not listen. It seemed more important to her to tell me what the technician said than to actually listen and address what I was saying. Finally she told me to email pictures of what I was talking about which I did.
After several more phone calls, they agreed to send the same guy out again to touch up what he had missed. I told them he needed to knock on the door this time and that we wanted to be sure it was done right. When he finished, my wife came to see if he had gotten everything. She pointed out that the two steps were still stained with mildew. He caught an attitude and said it wouldn't come off. Unbelievable. He wouldn't even give it a try. I called their office again and spoke to the same person again and she apologized again and said she would have the owner give me a call. Well, I didn't want or need a call from the owner. All I wanted was for someone to give me what I paid for.
Two more weeks passed and still no phone call and no one came by to make it right. I called them and spoke to the same person yet again. Once more she was combative and giving excuses why it hadn't been done. I asked her why the owner hadn't called as she had promised and she told me it was because he had been on vacation and was just now returning his calls. Why she promised to have him call when she knew he was going on vacation is puzzling. It seems like I was told that just to make me go away. Even more puzzling is why they can't resolve a simple problem like this without being argumentative, difficult and involving the owner. This is not rocket science and even basic customer service could have resolved it instantly. The technician didn't do his job right the first time, so send someone to get it right.
Now it's been over three weeks since I paid to have the work done. Numerous phone calls, two visits from the same technician and way too much energy has been wasted trying to get them to do what we agreed to. My impression is that they don't really care about doing the job well or making sure the customer is satisfied once they have their money.
I would avoid the unnecessary headache of doing business with Bryant's as there are many other companies offering the same type of service without all the headaches or miserable customer service and bad results. If they made a mistake (like we all do) and then promptly made it right, I would have left them a great review. Unfortunately that's not the case with this company.
The service was good and the people were nice. I would have liked to have understood more about why I should have used a color sealant rather than clear and I wish the scheduling process would have been more clear.
The first man appeared as scheduled in June. I seem to recall he came in the morning and alone. He took one look at the deck and exploded. He had several small decks to do that day and my deck was just one of the work orders on his board. He was sure I had misrepresented the deck to his company. He left.
We had several more men who came out with the same result. They looked at the decks and refused to do the job. After much back and forth with Bryant the project finally got underway weeks later. Part was done, and the work done was satisfactory, but the work was not completed. Weeks passed with dozens of phone calls. Finally, the work was completed in September. I never did understand the difference between the written estimate, which accurately described the deck, and the work orders from the company which apparenlty left off a zero. I really don't know what the problem was.
While the actual work was satisfactory the effort to get it done was not.
If you have a small or average sized deck I'm willing to believe that they would do a good job.
This same company previously pressure washed my house and did an excellent job. I will use them again in the future for my house but possibly not the fence due to the short life.
