At first Hafiz and his crew seemed to know what they were doing, howeve through the project, it became clear to me that most of the crew was not trained or experienced. The tile setter was on multiple jobs and mine was not a priority. Hafiz was many times hard to get ahold of, and clearly when there was an issue. His brother did the majority of the plumbing, which was done poorly. Hot and cold water does not flow the same and the faucets become loose frequently. The toilets were not set correctly, so I had to have a licensed plumber (although Hafiz and his brother said they were licensed) come in and set them correctly. At my additional expense. I chose to have the cabinet supplier install the cabinets, even though Hafiz said they could probably figure it out. I am glad i went with the cabinet supplier. After a couple of months of use of the master bath shower, we experienced a leak that went into the room below the master bath, our office. I immediately called Hafiz. He said he would re-grout the shower as that was most likely the issue because the grout had pulled away from the tile and water was getting around the vinyl barrier. He sent a new individual I had not previously met, who was clearly inexperienced. He did not have the right tools to do the job. He was taking the grout out with a screw driver and was scratching the travertine. I sent him away. In a subsequent phone call with Hafiz, he told me to call the original tile setter that worked for him, myself. I did, although i shouldn't of had to, and got no returned call. I let Hafiz know, but he never returned my calls. I decided to re-grout myself. That didn't stop the leak. And the pre-packaged grout that he sold me pulled away from the tile and the cracks in some areas remain. The cracks are on the ridge where the shower door sits, the floor of the shower has no cracks. After not using the shower and saving $$ to get this fixed, i finally had a licensed, Angies list, plumber come, who was phenomenal. After three hours of diagnostics, including tearing into my drywall to look for the leak, it was crystal clear to us both that the floor of the shower is defective and is the source of the leak. Water is leaking through the grout, through the cement underneath it, and through the vinyl barrier that United Floors nailed into the subfloor. The nails obviously left holes in the vinyl barrier for water to seep through. The leak has been inconsistent because if one takes a short shower, not enough water leaks through to leak through the office ceiling, but if we take a long shower, or back to back showers, enough water comes through to the office ceiling. This has been why it has been difficult to determine the issue. Hafiz has never called me back, and I got tired of calling and leaving messages. So i have not continued my effort to have it corrected by United Floors. There is also mold as a result that has to be dealt with. I am now dealing with highly rated, confirmed licensed contractors, of of Angies list to tear out the shower floor and have it put in correctly. It should be noted that United Floors has changed their name to Elegant Floors and here is their web address: http://fairfaxstation.patch.com/listings/elegant-floors-2
