Charles came out to give me a quote and a written proposal. He saw the scope of work and knew what it would take to do it. The cabinets and tile in the bathroom and the cabinet faces and tile in the kitchen. The previous homeowner had lung cancer and lived alone so there was a buildup of grime from gas cooking and hand lotion residue. He felt the cabinets and we discussed what it would take to get the job done. I assumed it would take 4 to 6 hours for 2 to 3 people and told him that. His proposal was in line with that. I accepted it and the work was to be done on Friday. Upon arrival (Charles came with one helper), they had a lot of rags and degreaser. They started in the bathroom and did a very good job. Once in the kitchen, the woman with him complained the entire time "we're going to be here all day!' Although she spoke low, I was working in the next room. Within 20 minutes of that comment, he started asking me to check his work. They'd barely begun in the kitchen, barely scratched the surface of the cabinet doors. They didn't touch any tile, no kitchen drawers, and didn't touch the wood in the pantry. They didn't complete the majority of the work. How many times can you be asked to check someone's work before you are aggravated enough to just want them gone? They were interrupting my own workflow and frame of mind then. I felt like I had a five-year-old in the house again. The sad this is, I don't think he would have acted that way if she had not come with him. I'm truly sorry for him.

Charles responded to my inquiry the same day. He viewed the job and a gave a quote the next day, and he completed the job within 5 days of the inquiry. My only suggestion would be to wear a mask when meeting your client . Because my health places me in a high risk category for COVID, this is important to me. Overall though, fantastic!
