Firstly, I highly recommend Darwin for any level of construction or renovation jobs you may be doing.  We recently used BlueHawk Builders to  build a pole barn / garage and have been delighted with the both the process and the results.  I have worked with a number of other contractors and know when I'm working with someone who knows their business and takes genuine pride in the quality of the work they're doing- and that certainly describes Darwin and staff.

Darwin is one of the hardest working people we've ever met.  He prepared a very nice drawing for us to see the vision for our garage so that we'd clearly know what to expect in the final build and final cost. 
His price was better than all of the other builders we inquired with and [because] he does HIS OWN WORK (NO SUBS).  Darwin was very pleasant to work with, a perfectionist and went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy with the outcome.
Darwin is driven AND knows what he's doing; he's not one of the many who wants the check but doesn't much care about working for it.  We would hire Darwin again anytime and wouldn't even bother getting a bid from anyone else for the next project.

We were unable to find a local company that would take on the challenge of rehabbing our dilapidated barn. We remembered the excellent work that Darwin did building a garage at our old house, a few years prior. We hadn't initially contacted Darwin, since his business is so far from where we live, but luckily we found his phone number and he came all the way here (in Maryland) to discuss the project with us. Not only was he willing to do it, but he was enthusiastic about the challenge and full of ideas about how to make it work. (He took pictures of this major rehab from start to finish that he put on his website, if you want to see for yourself what an undertaking it was).

Not only did his ideas work, the barn is now structurally sound and looks beautiful. As happens during any construction project, there were many unforeseen obstacles (like discovering rotted-out wooden support beams), but Darwin always found a way to quickly overcome each one as it came. He is not only professional and friendly, but he also takes great pride in his work and wants his final product to be perfect.

We were so happy with the barn rehab that we added a second project of building a second, new barn. We felt very fortunate that he was willing to travel from his home state to do these jobs. He is very responsive to phone calls & texts and is very easy to work with. We were honestly sad to see him go when the projects were completed, as he is such a friendly and pleasant guy, but he is a very efficient worker and the projects were completed right on schedule.

The jobs were done perfectly, the price was very fair and we wish all contractors could be as good as he is.

Darwin is a skilled, thoughtful contractor who prioritizes doing the the job right. He put a three room addition with a screen porch on our cabin in July 2015. Our original plan for tying the porch roof onto the house was the simplest, but Darwin expressed concern about potential ice/water issues given the pitch of the new roof. He drew out alternative plans and offered to do the extra work without charge, because he wanted the final product to be well constructed. It turned out amazing and definitely exceeded expectations. His experience and capability were a huge asset on this project. Additionally, he finished the job ahead of schedule and was just a nice guy about everything. We would definitely hire him again and highly recommend him.
