YOWELL HEATING & AIR COND INC

Yowell determined my AC was low on refrigerant from an apparent leak.  He checked for obvious leaks and found nothing.  He said it was probably a small leak somewhere.  He recommended we add refrigerant and a $80 can of sealant to make sure we solved the problem.  Exactly two weeks later the system displayed the same previous symptoms, low on refrigerant.  It wouldn't cool the house.  I called him, got his voicemail and asked he come back and make this right.  He didn't return my call for about a week and then said he had strained his back but would be back to me soon.  He never called again and never corrected this situation.  He left me hanging after spending $617 and getting only a 2 week fix.  That was 2 1/2 months ago.  He didn't stand by his work.

I've since given up and figure the $617 was flushed for nothing.  I'm now using another provider.

We turned on the A/C and it ran but didn't cool the house.  I called Yowell, and they had someone out that afternoon to look at it.  He systematically went through all the possibilities, to eliminate simple problems, and discovered that the cooling unit was iced up and thus not cooling efficiently.  In addition, the system was a bit low on freon.  He defrosted the unit and added freon, and showed me how to check and defrost the unit myself.  He was pleasant, informative and efficient, and the price was right.  I will certainly call them again!

The owner is Scott Yowell. He was just out this week so I haven't even gotten the bill yet. Overall he did a good job. He was thorough and took his time. He did it right. I talked to another friend at work that happened to use him and he said he also did a good job for him and found some previous things that another guy didn't find or overlooked. I did have to call back because apparently the person that took the message didn?t follow up.
