They seem to do very good work. They are very good at diagnosing things. Price is probably quite reasonable. Not cheap, but reasonable, probably the going rate. The quality is fine. I don't know very much about cars, but they did their best to explain what they were doing and it seemed reasonable. The workers that I came in contact with were fine. Mostly I came in contact with the owner of the shop, and he is very knowledgeable about cars. I'm quite impressed by him. They did the work very quickly, I was surprised by how quickly they were able to do it. Earlysville Auto is in walking distance of my house, that is another reason for choosing them.

The battery in my 1996 Jeep Cherokee would drain fully if the Jeep was not driven for 2 days.  Also, the air conditioner didn't cool.
I had taken it to another garage. They were unable to find the battery drain and were unsure if there was a problem with the A/C -- other than it not being charged. They charged it -- but by the time I got home, there was no cold air.
Angie's List referred me to Earlysville Auto, so I dropped the Jeep off there. The battery drain was so small that a meter didn't pick it up. But they were inquisitive enough to find out that the glove box light was staying on. Problem solved.
The A/C was more of a challenge. The Jeep was old enough that parts were hard to come by. They could easily locate the larger pieces (compressor, condenser, etc), but the hoses were not to be found. That's when they could have called me and just said that parts weren't available -- sorry.
But they did their homework, got on the internet, received several parts that were supposed to fit (but didn't), and saw the job through to a positive conclusion --> cold air!
These folks went above and beyond to complete the job, did great work, and came in at a fair price. I would strongly recommend Earlysville Auto as a fair and honest garage.

I can't remember the cost but Roger replaced an air conditioner condencer and it was done well and for a very reasonable
price. He has also done other work, oil change and a PCV valve, and I've been pleased. He has an informal and friendly
1-12demeanor that someone may interpret as unprofessional but he's fair and very competent in my view.

It took several days to get all,of the necessary parts shipped in for the a/c and the repair went fine. After nearly three months the system is working fine and the car, which had an engine miss, continues to run great.

The manual for our 2001 Nissan Pathfinder said to replace the timing belt at 110,000 miles. So, I took it to Earlysville Auto to have the very expensive job completed. Roger called back and said since our Pathfinder was an SE model, it had a timing chain and did not need replacing. Now, SOME repair shops in the area may have just replaced the chain and charged me anyhow. But, we have been using Earlysville Auto for years and have always been pleased with their expertise, low price and customer support. I was so excited not to spent $1000 on a timing belt, I had them replace the brakes and inspect a month early.
