Lord Charlton Kennel & Pet Spa

We boarded our 2 cats here over Labor Day weekend.  We dropped them off on Thursday morning, and we picked them up on Monday morning.  Even though Monday was a holiday, the owner very kindly let us come by to get our pets that day.  Our cats were well cared for, and they were given play time outside of their cages.  The area where the cats stayed was very clean.  Our cats seemed to enjoy their stay, as much as cats can in a kennel!  The owner was very friendly and patiently answered all of my questions.  We would definitely use this kennel again.  

I have mixed feelings about this groomer. When I first started using them, they were great, the service has since went downhill to the point that I don't even use them anymore. The last few times I had my dog there, the nails were not trimmed. I even asked them the last few times to make sure they were done and when I picked them up, they weren't trimmed. They can get you in for an appointment quickly and are fast but the quality is just not what it use to be.

My dogs seemed well cared for when we picked them up. The price was reasonable and they received a free bath as first time customers. We will definitely use them in the future,.

the people working there where nice. However, our dog had never been to a overnight boarding before!, so it is hard to draw comparsons!

Overall it was fine. the dogs didn't seem worse for the ware.

We went to meet the groomers and see the place before making an appointment. The dogs were obviously comfortable with the groomers so we made an appointment for grooming. The groomers are very nice and the dogs get along well with them. The price is very reasonable. We are working on how I want the dogs cut as the terms I normally use don't mean exactly the same thing to these groomers. The groomer was also willing to do touch-up work on the cocker when I suggested that the next time I wanted the back and top of the ears shaved a little closer. They really want the customer to be satisfied.

My pups and family love Lord Charlton Kennels. We have two peckenese dogs Rocko and Lani. We have used their boarding services and their grooming services. They treat our pups like their own. The staff is so great with them and are always available for them. I can call the day before and they will always make room for them. We are moving out of the country and are very sad that ww will not be able to have such great people to take care of our pups. There pricing also can NOT be beat..... Lord Charlton Kennels loves what they do and loves animals. We will truly miss them!

We had been taking care of our son's dog while he and his family were in temporary quarters. I knew nothing about grooming a poodle and felt uncomfortable brushing out tangles and didn't know how to trim his fur. Patty had groomed this dog once before and did a wonderful job. This time I needed a favor. I learned on Sunday that my son would be ready for the dog on Tuesday (my birthday), so I called Patty Sunday afternoon and explained my problem. She gave me an appointment Monday morning and by noon I had a well groomed clean dog to take back to my son. I try to anticipate necessary appointments, but sometimes life is unpredictable. Patty deserves a thank you for being flexible and understanding.

The kennel is located in a very pleasant rural area. Everything went very well.

I have a two month old Scottish Terrier that was in need of a puppy cut and a washing with medicated shampoo. I made the appointment for that Friday. When we entered the grooming facility I noticed how white and clean everything was. The staff made a fuss over how cute he was and then he piddled on the nice clean floor and they laughed and cleaned up the mess. They groomed him beautifully and clipped his claws. He was so happy to be there and to socialize with the staff and the other dogs I had a hard time getting him out the door. I will definately use them again and look forward to the scottie cut when his skirt comes in. The military discount is a bounus.

This is an amazing kennel.... I stoped by to see how this kennel was beore boarding my boxer. The kennel was very clean, cleaner smelling that any other place I visited. Patti the owner is a dog traniner and truely loves dogs. I feel very comfortable bording my boxer here, and would not go anywhere else. My boxer came home fitter than when she was droped off, so I know she had lots of play time!!! They do not charge extra fees for playtime and such. The second time I brought my boxer I noticed that she was excited about coming back. That says it all. Patti even sends out youtube video's of your dog while you are on vacation. That is so cool.

First let me mention: 10% discount for military. I received a mail box offer for an "express bath for $10 that came along with a flyer for regular grooming services with prices. The prices were very good compared to my other groomer, so I decided to give it a try. My hound got the $10 express bath, while my llasa apso got a full summer strip down for $35 (the custom dog grooming charge for dogs up to 20 lbs. Custom cuts on 40 to 70 lb dogs - think standard poodle - is $65.) The brochure is very descriptive and describes all services fully. The above is example only. Heavy matting or degrees of difficulty of a custom cut can effect the price. Basic dog grooming prices are lower and include nail trimming, ear cleaning, blow dry, brush out, and gland expression. I requested an appointment for both dogs for the next morning and got right in, drop-off at 8:30 a.m. They called me at 11:30 to say they were done and I picked up at 12:30. I was very pleased with both dogs finished "look", it was exactly as requested. The staff were affectionate with the dogs, very friendly, and I was very pleased to hear the dogs would not be in cages, and would have the opportunity to urinate outside while they were there. I am not positive, but I believe they were in more of a kennel environment (as opposed to an open play area. But again, I am not sure, please inquire.) The history of the kennel is amazing and it is on a lovely piece of property in a country setting, but so convenient being literally 3 minutes off I-95 or 234 or Rt.1. Both dogs were given a little goody bag of treats when we left and NO bandana (hooray!!) - a fact I was very pleased about. (I hate those darn bandanas and take them off and throw them away as soon as I get home from other groomers.)
